I have to admit that when I was young I loved Space 1999. Anyone else follow that show?
Is that the one that had Martin Landau and his wife - I remember that show. Very good but didn't last too long.
Conn8d - I remember the show where Data lost his head....Had Whoopy Goldberg in is too! Didn't have to sneak in to watch - old enough to watch! But I don't remember a show called Cadfiel - missed that one. And welcome aboard!

OK, I am going to show my geek.
You are actually talking about two separate eps. Yes, there were 2 where Data 'lost' his head. Conn8d was indeed talking about 'Disaster' where Riker purposefully removed Data's head so that his body could be used to stop and electrical current that was blocking their path to engineering.
llp is talking about 'Time's Arrow (Part 1 and 2)' where Data is transported back to San Francisco at the turn of the 20th century and loses his head on the way back (which is found at the beginning of the episode). This one has Whoopi Goldberg in it (Disaster did not).
Yes I am a geek.
Yesterday I walked into the living room and TNG was on. It took me about 5 seconds of watching the reflection of it in the picture hanging behind to sofa to identify it as 'First Contact' (the episode, not the movie - I wouldn't have needed that long had it been the movie 'First Contact').

You're right. I was talking about Time's Arrow....I just watched (on reruns of course) the show about a week ago. But I also remember the other episode you are talking about Antoa. I forgot about that one until you reminded me.

Seriously? Scary enough he lost it once...hehe good thing I didn't sneak into both episodes...doubly traumatic.
Good call though you know your trek!
Just finished the extra on Normandy. That chair Martin is sitting in is so funny. Everyone else seems to be interviewing in fairly ordinary places on set...and then he's in this massive red chair.
Sweet.

Hey Conn8d welcome to the thread!! And yes Martin Wood is totally awesome
Just one quick request - and I don't want to scare you off because we really don't bite (although, well Pol, might since she didn't get the memo and watch out for that Jumble!) but could I ask that anything about the Sanctuary extras you post in spoilers? Some of us don't have the DVDs yet and wood prefer it all to be a surprise! Many thanks
*waves to rest of Woohoos* sorry I haven't been around much the past couple of days - explanation to follow once I've had the requisite amount of tea to function this early in the morning!

No worries and fixed it!
Spoiler:
Wasn't really sure whether to use 'em or not or if a chair in the extras interviews counted as spoilers or not since it didn't have anything to do with what was said by anybody or plot or whatever...but it does involve Martin so I suppose I shaoulda been more considerate
I love ALL the sci-fi shows mentioned! Started with TOS, and Lost in Space (loved the robot), Quantum Leap (yummy), TNG, Voyager (Janeway - perfect strong woman character), Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica - the original, yes, I liked Starbuck as a guy!, Space 1999, and a host of others. Such good memories!
You know, if anyone had asked me I wood have said I wasn't really into 'sci-fi', but since this conversation started I've realised that in fact I've been a sci-fi geek all my life The LiS robot was my fave when I was a kid
I just got my sanctuary s3 dvd and I have been watching the extras, and I just wanted to express my Martin Wood appreciation! Didn't realize he had his own thread but I should hardly be surprised. Thanks to him, and Damian, and Amanda santuary is as good as it is.

What you said wasn't really a spoiler - Sarai was just letting you know early that comments about the S3 dvds need to be spoilered and labelled so that you woodn't make the mistake of letting out any real spoilers - best be safe and put everything to do with the dvds in spoilers
(Something similar happened when I snuck in and saw the mystery show Cadfiel, and for years I harbored and unreasonable discomfort around monks...I really shouldn't have snuck in so much)
Welcome!!!!!!!!
Did you mean Cadfael? I know it. I read all the books based on this character
