MoB, nothing for us UKers to get psyched about for several more weeks *sulks*

Congrats to our very special award winning LIBRARIAN!

And Jumble, I have all intentions of taping all the Sanctuary shows for us to watch. So you're going to have a jump start on all the UK viewers! That is if you are interested!

Well time to go to bed. Going to have a visitor from So. Calif over at the apt this week and next week I'm going down to No. Calif to visit my new Grand Niece. Then only 5 weeks after that....you will be winging in! Going to have to find time for my writing. I'm starting to really get involved in my new story.

I know that, and appreciate it, but like I said that's still several weeks away

Glad the new book is going well

Jumble, there are many ways of watching Sanctuary on time-ish, even if you don't live in the US. Perfectly legally too, if that concerns you... I'm on my way to Boston until Sunday night and may have rather limited Internet for the next few days (depends on the hotel)... But I'll see what I can do for you...

True...although I know the way I watched it when I was in the Netherlands isn't officially legal in other countries, in the Netherlands it is legal to download material as long as you don't upload it. Even read an article about it. They can't make it illegal in our country since we don't have enough alternatives. Pretty interesting how the law works sometimes and to find the loopholes in it.

Btw MoB what program do you use again for making your vids? Imovie?

I use Final Cut (express). I'm dying to get my hands on Final Cut Pro, but alas, $$$$.

I know there are other ways of watching it, and I know some people have no alternative than to use those other ways, but for me it has to be on a full-size screen with decent sound - not on a laptop screen with questionable sound quality.

That's just how I feel about it

I've heard that program was good! And do you also convert the vids with it or do you use other programs for that?

Once I get my mac next week(after I order it this Friday; paycheck day!!) I want to start making a vid or so again!

See I never watch it on my laptop when I'm at home. I just connect my laptop to the TV(HDMI) I'm sure you computer has it(haven't seen your TV so don't know about that) and you can watch it on TV with the same/higher quality.

Can I say I'm excited for the end of this week? Sanctuary(Yay), today a family member(the one that got me this job) is flying in and I'll see her tomorrow! and on Friday I can finally order a new computer! Which is a big relief since my poor laptop is really dying and I don't want it to die just yet! (I think I killed the graphics card...my 3rd graphic card kill )

I'll have to check it out, pretty sure it's got HDMI but I'll need to get a cable

                    Afternoon Woohoos

I'm still on a high about my award Told various academics at work about it today and got lots of useful suggestions and contacts from them Very exciting!

It's totally up to me Now I've made the case for the kind of thing I want to do and the kind of places I want to go, they're just going to hand me the cheque and leave it up to me! It'll mostly be East Coast (Boston, NY, Washington DC ), and I'm hoping to get to a whole variety of libraries and archives - National Archives, Library of Congress, one or two Presidential Libraries, State Historical Societies, the American Antiquarian Society, specialist research institutions... as much as I can practically fit in!

finished assessments, thank goodness. Got through them without much fuss, just a lot of study. I'm the resident "teacher" of our critical theatre studies unit, which is great because it means that I don't really have to study, I just have to reteach the subject to all my friends who weren't listening in the lectures. I understand it so much better when they ask me questions and i have to answer them. Hoorah for being the academic one in a sea of artists

Otherwise, I'm feeling a little low at the moment. Taking a little self-esteem hit...I found out some not nice stuff about the guy I was seeing a couple of years ago (you may recall this as the time that Bekki went off the rails because of some silly boy...) and it's made me a little...what's the word...i dunno, sensitive. It's all cool though, because he was a bit of a poobag, really, even if i didn't think so at the time (even though I know you all knew so hehehe) I don't know. I wish it wasn't affecting me. It's too long ago to matter, but still...

Oops...no negative nancy here! I have an excitingly cold and rainy day to look forward to! I wonder if I can convince my friend that we should continue our Sanctuary watch this evening. Hmmm...

                    *huggles everyone*
Glad your assessments are done, and *hugs* on the self-esteem dent. I know that much as you might rationally know it shouldn't affect you, and it was all done and in the past, but unfortunately human beings are not rational and it's quite understandable that it has. As long as you don't let it get to you too much, it's perfectly OK

If you have a newer TV(read a normal flatscreen) it will 99% sure have it. Cables these days aren't that expensive. Just depends on what you want. On amazon you can already find them from 10 bucks!

Yep, I have it! Just need to get a lead

The latest S4K Auction items are up here. Martin's not on the list for a Skype chat or a Voicemail message, and I can't do a Set Tour before August, so that'll save me a heap of cash

Why does that not make me happy?

Of course it does! Plus when I was at your place, most of my time there was spent in your kitchen.

But I'm really disappointed that he's not on the list for the Voicemail - I'd have almost killed for that

Well if watching on a big screen TV is your main criteria....I can surely provide you with that. My TV is 65" so hopefully that will be big enough for you. But alas, still no shots of Martin will appear unless we catch an old SG1 show.

Hey Jumble: As for the VM with Martin....why don't you send an email and suggest it. I'm sure it will bring in some good bids. You know what he's like. He is just to humble to think he could bring in any cash....so send the comment via Amanda Tapping. Maybe as a question to her on her Tapping Tuesdays!
