Intersting discussion about the surname/name thing. I know surname only is a thing that's extensively used in American TV series, but I didn't realise there was any crossover in real life. It's certainly not event remotely normal here in the UK. At all. It seems very patchily used in the U.S too from what I can see.
The closest I have ever some was some work colleagues, when I was doing refits/new stores, would call me "Sibles" from time to time, but that was only because there was a woman on the display team with my name too and if we happened to be working on the same store, it made it easier to work out who they were talking to/about. I guess I have quite a common name - well, ok, not common but one that very firmly dates me between later 60's and early 70's... thanks mum and dad!

oh wow! If we got the day off (which I'm sure we woodn't....even though they're our royals too) we wood have the weekend-iest week ever! Day off on the 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 29th, 30th, 1st and 2nd

wowsers...

That's what we get Although I might have to work the 2nd, and don't know yet whether we'll get to close on the 29th. But officially there's two four day weekends in a row next April for the UK

I just got back from the NHS walk-in centre. Pulled the tendon in my ankle... when I was sitting at Jumble's kitchen table... She called it a "sports injury" For future reference, warm up properly before you watch any SG-1 (or any Stargate actually). I've got to rest it for 6 weeks (as best I can) and take anti-inflammatory medicine.
I'm glad I went today because I'm too stubborn... I would've just carried on forcing it to do stuff.

*hugs* You make sure you rest it properly, otherwise it won't heal and you'll suffer for years.
