I don't always watch SGU when it first airs, but I have eventually watched all the episodes and the show is pretty good. Definately worth me watching! I'm just haven't "invested myself" into these characters as much as the SG1 or even Atlantis. These characters are not as sympathetic, ...interesting, but not real loveable. My favorite character is the one played by David Blue. I would like to see him mature and get a larger set of "kahunas," but still keep the niceness he has....wonder if that's possible???

They've written a great deal of potential into each character (except maybe Rush...rrrrrgh). I enjoy watching to see if they meet that potential or grow toward it--or fall away from it. As you say, Eli is very likable, but has some growing up to do, especially in respects to owning what he can do and his own value to the mission as a whole (hello! YOU broke the code, Eli!). I love the flashes of brilliance and the inky darkness that is shown in the characters. ATM, I don't want to see my heroes conquer every week, with a flash of a smile. I'm going bonkers w/ life...and it's nice to have a tv show that reflects the reality of life, sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE SG in all its forms, and I'm a big fan of escapism and using tv for diversion rather than reflection. Just saying...right now...reflection is what I'm enjoying the most right now.

I understand where you are coming from and can understand your point of view. And I don't always need a happy ending either. However, many of the characters (especially RUSH) are not very sympathetic so it makes it harder to get into enjoying them. That is why I like the character of Eli, even though he does need to grow up some and he slowly is doing that. Maybe not quite fast enough considering what is happening in the storyline!

However, I will continue to watch even though I am not a "big" fan. I still find the show to be interesting enough to keep my interest, just not as much "interest" as other show I watch. So I hope it stays on the air for a 5 season run and I'll continue watching if it does.

Hey Woohoos!

Home from work. V. busy day! Started in the labor room @8am, caught a baby at 8:53am, ran over to clinic, saw patients for 8 hours, back in the labor room until 8:30pm. Home now, chilling out. Breakfast for dinner. Yum.

Finally deciding on my end date for work has been like a huge weight off my shoulders. I feel free.

That said... I took great delight in finally being able to programme plan Sanctuary into my Sky box last night (it only lets you do so maximum of 1 week in advance). I think the countdown might have to be redone in hours now.

I did that too! So excited for Friday. Even pimping it on my FB and soon to pimp on twitter too.

I'm a S/J who still cares about the 3rd SG1 movie!!!

Today a Swiss company called me for an interview!!!!! They told me that I've sent mv CV to them some times ago (well, I keep sending my CV everywhere ). They offered me a position in the R&D department! I have to recall them tomorrow to decide the day of the interview. Of course I still don't know if they have other candidates or what they exactly want to offer me...but hey...it seems a good opportunity!
Even though the company is not very near respect where I live (60 km vs 25 of my actual job), but since swiss salaries are a lot higher than the italian ones I could evaluate the possibility to rent a flat in Switzerland. Well...no illusions until after the interview! We'll see!

I'll miss Sanctuary on Friday...I'm going camping in the mountains(best time of the year to do that now with everything changing colors) with a few friends instead(which is going to be awesome)...but still...*sob*
Also now, because of that, one of my friends in here is mad at me...she has her parents in town and can't go but is going to something else that night(not with her parents) and was hoping I would go along, but I prefered the camping(other thing was Halloween and I don't care about that so much)...*sigh*
She'll cool down...eventually.
