Apparently the UK is in for a heatwave with average temperatures up to 39C and running right into the middle of September Guess who'll be hiding indoors for the next few months

And they're changing the rules about flying through volcanic dust clouds (who knew there were any rules?), so that fewer flights will have to be cancelled. Good news for those of us planning an important trip abroad in July

Cags, glad someone understands the whole FB hide or remove option. Except I can't find the hide button. I only had to remove someone once and because he twisted everyone's words into a world against him issue. Then he would complain, was vulgar and didn't respect anyone's opinion but his own. I learned that I didn't like the guy and didn't need to be subjected to that stress. Didn't realize that I would be able to read his nasty notes about me for a day thanks to FB sending them to my e-mail.

I would love to have sunshine here, the clouds and rain are so depressing.

Agreed. I remember a couple of months or weeks ago you posted on Twitter about having a spider across your front door. It made me giggle We will never falter - we will stand our ground. Bloody spiders . Dave went away for the weekend on a Stag do a few weeks ago. Literally within a couple of hours of him going a huuuuge slug turned up in my kitchen *shudders* and then a massive spider on the stairs up to the attic room (. I swear they can smell my fear.

*hugs* and then *sticks fingers in ears for the whole rest of the spider conversation*

I wonder how big the spiders are in Canada.....................

OK I lied

Not as big as in Australia - I was so scared of seeing a huge spider when I went there last year, I was completely paranoid checking everywhere all the time (particularly when I went to the loo ). I was very relieved that I only saw one really big one, and it was both stationary and outside where I could quickly move away from it!

Must let off steam.

*hugs* and I agree with Cags, it's just a way to manage friends. Facebook is great for keeping in touch with people, but it's entirely normal to want some space from some of those people too!

Ooh, I have a story for you I told you all I've been watching Dr Who, because my attractive friend lent it to me...well, he made me promise not to watch a particular episiode by myself. It's the season 3 episode Blink, for anyone who follows Dr Who. He said it was too scary and needed to be watched with company in the middle of the night. ..........It's a friend of ours' birthday tomorrow, and we are all going out for a good drink or ten tomorrow night, and Eamonn (my attractive friend) asked if I wanted to watch Blink with him after the party...

Now...not only will it be the middle of the night, presumably in my house with no one else there, but I will also be DRUNK??? Oh dear...oh dear indeed...:0

Seriously, DO NOT WATCH BLINK LATE AT NIGHT! Seriously. I'm not kidding. It is absolutely terrifying and will keep you awake. Watch it with someone else, when it's daylight, and when there are many hours for you to get over it before you go to bed. But as Oma says, it's an amazing episode, absolutely brilliant

Ooh yay, I love heatwaves Sorry for those of you who don't, but I say bring it on! Especially as I missed last year's heatwave due to the aforementioned trip to Australia (where no-one believed me when I told them the UK was having a heatwave - they all just laughed and said 'what, it's 20 degrees'? Flaming Aussies *huggles Bekki*

And on the planes thing, good news about the ash but I'm worried about the strikes too, as I'm due to fly to the States at the end of June

That's the usual thing though, being scared of the big things when it's the little ones that are more likely to be lethal

The first time I saw DT was in a movie where he was playing a scarily insane character, and I think the fact that he seemed to fit so well is what's put me off him. He gives me the creeps

What they're saying is that the rules are too tight, and that it's not as dangerous as it's been made out to be. *shrugs*I've heard it said that it could take up to 20 years for the cloud to disperse

But I doubt it will be a problem for that long
