      hey WooHoo's

Got called into work tonight so it will be another late one. Unfortunately I don't have time to catch up on the thread properly so *hugs* for those in need and *hugs* for everyone else just because we could all use a hug now and then.

I wanted to post this last night but didn't have time so I will do it now.
My nephew called me yesterday and said that Lisa has been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. It is an inflammatory disease that causes an abnormal immune response and affects multiple organs in the body. It spreads from one organ to another. If it spreads to the brain, and in Lisa it has, it can be fatal. They are treating her with steroids but we won't know for a few days if it's working. Even in the best case scenarios it can take between 2 and 5 years to cure it and when'if they do cure the possibility of reoccurance is very high.
Lisa needs prayers, good vibes, or anything positive you can send her way. This is scary for the whole family but especially for her. It's no fun when your body is slowly shutting down and you have two babies waiting for you at home.
Even though it has spread to her brain we are staying hopeful. As jumble wisely pointed out to me "as long as they have a treatment, there is hope."

      Thanks Woohoo's.
      *more hugs*

There is hope Bree, you all have to hang onto that

Ok, so I've been trying to figure out how to explain this all day. Whilst I was shopping in Sainsburys yesterday with Matthew (10) and Joanna (7), they both started to sing the teapot song. If you're not familiar with it, it goes...

'I'm a little teapot short and stout
Here's my handle (put one hand on hip to create a 'handle')
Here's my spout (put other hand out to the side to form a 'spout')
When the kettle's boiling here me shout
"Tip me up and pour me out!"'

and I thought it was really cute that they were still doing nursery rhymes at their ages..........

But their version was slightly different...........

'I'm a little teapot short and stout
Here's my handle (arm forms a handle)
          Here's my.......(other arm also forms a handle)
Oh crap! I'm a sugar bowl!'

I literally fell apart laughing, in the middle of the store, and couldn't stop for aaaaages

Apparently their mother had passed that little gem onto them after watching Stephen Fry do it on QI

What's going on with all this double posting? It's happening all over GW

Not that doubling the amount of good vibes for Lisa is a bad thing

                  *flops back in*

Bree thank you for updating us on Lisa. Huggles for you all for what must be a very worrying time. A diagnosis and a treatment plan is a step in the right direction. I'm not normally a religious/praying person but I'm prepared to hedge my bets if there's a slight chance someone up there is listening so prayers and loads of positive vibes from me.

Woohoo Wendy You're a driver now. When's the first lesson? When when when? You will be absolutely fine. I might reccomend Bach Rescue remedy for calming you a bit if needed. Works a treat for me.

*huggles Oma* and also huggles for Hannah. Aw... For what it's worth, I think you're doing a great job so far. It'll take a while for her to get her self esteem back so lots of pampering and affirmation and non-judgmental attitude until then. But she will get over this. *sends Duct tape for Lea's mouth*.

                  Jumble, glad you liked Avatar.

                  Spoiler:
Yes, that was my thoughts about it too. Visually stunning - especially in 3D - but as a plot/story... meh! You don't watch it for the plot though; you watch and enjoy for the effects and the imagination. The dialogue is straight from the George Lucas school of clunkyness in places. And, yes, i made the same comparisons with Dances With Wolves, Pochahontas etc.

Blimey, a 69 post on a 69 page for you. Double Whammy! Congrats!

And... on the teapot song. I really need to teach Benjabubs that one.

LJ Wow what a lovely photo of your mom and family. Are those her brothers/sisters? What a fab smile. *huggles*

*huggles Amanda* for babysitting duties. How they're not wearing you down too much. Wait, are you still doing it? I've lost track.

So, I have been sooooo busy the last few days. Firstly, Thursday's big pressentation went very well. I was so pleased and we got loads of interest from people who I can network with. I think I may have just made myself a load more work which, heh, only working 14 hours a week I'll end up doing in my own time but, hey! I was completely exhausted and, of all the nights Benjabubs decides not to sleep, well, yes, you can guess can't you!
Charles has a rare long weekend off - although he's back Monday for the bank holiday - so yesterday we went and treated ourselves to a new sofa. We currently have a 2 seater and a 3 seater sofa which I got 10 years ago. I wanted a corner unit at the time but they weren't in vogue. So now they are, and this one is getting tatty, I thought, what the hey, and we're having a new one. Of course that also means completely redecorating the entire living room - new floor, curtains, layout, younameit. Oh the hardship!
I also won a very important fight with the dentist. I've had this dodgy filling that, for the last 18 years, I've had filled and refilled and filled again. Each time it keeps breaking and every time, takes a bit more tooth with it. I had it redone 6 months ago (without anethesia if you recall) and, last week it broke yet again! So I finally convinced the dentist to just yank the bloody thing out. Two more weeks and the rotten thing is gone. I shouldn't be this excited about having a tooth pulled out should!
And today, gardening and buying new bookcases so I can finally re-unpack all my big reference books I stashed away when I thought we were moving a couple of years ago. I should have been a librarian - it took me half the morning to categorise and alphabetise them.

Thanks, Cags. I don't think I've ever heard of that, but I shall go look it up

I'm glad your presentation went well.

Yay for dentists finally listening!!! That's so rare, I think we should celebrate!

PS: It's taken me ages to type up this post.... GW! *shakes fist*

Sorry, but GW keeps messing up when I try to quote... I'm seriously considering just waffling through and not bothering because it just keeps going weird.

And on that note, I'm exhausted from my Robin Hood day and I'm off to sleep in a few. ...early night!

That's happening a lot Wendy The only way I've found round it if you want to quote is to copy and paste into Word, add/edit what you want, and then paste it into the reply box. Really annoying, but better than tearing your hair out with the darned cursor jumping about all over the quote box

Oh, how did the jousting go? Was it fun? Did you get involved? Got pics?
