My confusion

How can pictures that have them as character's -- ie, wedding pictures from the episode 200 -- not be used in graphics or be seen as the characters... It's the actors. It's their job. I must have missed something because I'm so confused. How can you not use that picture? What difference does it make? Maybe I'm being dense but that's the point of acting, and it's not like you're looking a private pictures and twisting them or anything. They're actually In-Character at the time it was taken.

I'm sorry if that made no sense, but it seems that some people are quite passionate about it. I'm confused.

I was I think one of them but for me it had more to do with canon and non-canon. And of course you can make artwork with those pictures and it are S/J during, for example the wedding scene, but IMHO it's not *our* S/J. It's just what your PoV is IMHO.

To me when artwork is created, you are trying to tell a story or define a moment. If the AU pics of Sam or Jack are used to create that, then that is fine. There is a love between Jack and Sam in every form or time that extends beyond the boundaries of our universe, so to me everything in Stargate is fair game when it comes to those two.

IT'S A TV SHOW! IT'S NOT REAL!!!!

Frankly, my interest in S/J has waned considerably recently. Don't get me wrong, I want the third movie, really want it! And I wood LOVE to see some form of confirmation that Jack and Sam are together. But it's not the centre of my world and I won't sink into a mire of depression if it doesn't happen Except of course I wood be upset not to have the bts of the movie because Martin wood be directing and I'd be really sorry not to have that

Life is too freaking short to get uptight about a couple of tv characters

Martin, on the other hand, is a real person and I stand by my obssession with his...... um..... directing abilities

Thanks, guys. Though it seems I've depressed everyone... WHOOPS.

Anyway, at least I know I'm not being dense. I just thought it was supposed to be fun, and I can't see the harm is using an image that already exists to express an idea/thought about two character's who haven't been on screen for ages. That was all. Like, my sig, is quite obviously from POV and it would, technically be AU. But who is to say they wouldn't marry eventually and that's one image to use for that. *shrugs* I understand what people are saying about it not being *our* Sam and Jack, but then I could sooo confuse that and say how often SG-1 have futzed about with timelines, etc. So none of them are. And it's the actors, it represents them both. I'm gonna use them, darn it!

From someone who just wants to have fun and live in a bubble where you can have pretendy fun times.
