Indeed. I think Sanctuary seasons (well, the past two anyway) were better in one run since they were so short. I really don't want Season 3 to have a long break, despite having more episodes.

Exactly. You do tend to forget stuff. I know I do. I remember the very end of the last episode so I tend to be okay with that, but a lot of details get lost.

It was good so far, but next season will really follow SGU. They'll both have 20 eps. And I'm afraid if there is a long break it'll be for both shows.

          Boohiss.

I can't stress how much I HATE those mid season breaks. I would far rather wait 3 or 4 months for them to catch up and start the season in one long run.
The mid season break might be a tactic that U.S. audiences are used to but, over here, we're so used to them dicking about with our tv shows that you have more than a two week break you instantly think it's yet another series they've moved about/lost/stopped mid way and you lose interest.

The only possibly saving grace may be that Sanctuary won't be on Sky 1 and maybe ITV4 / Sci Fi (which is, sadly, adopting the dumb SyFy name after all ) and we can hope they're more respectful of it and of their audience.

This is something new here in the US as well. First the cable stations started doing it. Or a lot of them only had 13 weeks ordered. But now the network stations are doing it as well. I think it has to do with shows now only sell 20 or 22 episodes in a season. Even if they reran each one they would still have big breaks of time in between. Plus they don't seem to have seasons anymore. New shows seem to start during all times of the year. Personally, I don't like it either.

As for SGU - the second half of season one just started. I won't give away clues but I enjoyed the episode. My only complaint. The show is shot a little dark (not the script - the lighting) which makes it hard to see what's happening at times. Oh and here, they reran the first group of episodes the day they released the new episode. So I could catch up with I wanted too.

            Hello Jumble!

llp, They are shot too dark, I agree. I messed about with the settings on the TV for ages before I realised it wasn't me at all.

Curtains closed when I watch it now!!

I agree. There has to be a better way to bring across the mood. I watched something the other day that I thought my tv went bad. It was so dark there was nothing there. I have a tv that is only a few years old and a large screen. I finally just turned off the movie.

I'm hoping Cags is right, that ITV4 will run the whole season without any huge breaks

What tends to happen here is that they run all the eps, then have a break, then re-run the season again. Which is great, but not as good as having the DVDs to indulge in for days and days and days at a time

Plus of course, there's the bts stuff to watch as well (which I hope will include a lot more of Martin on the S2 set )

Btw llp, do you have a name we can call you? On here we tend to call each other by name or nickname. Makes it friendlier

Hey Jumble. Well I'll show you mine if you show me yours. Your name can't be Jumble or is it. Generally, most people call me Laurie.

As for DVD's - I love them. I'm waiting for Sanctuary to come out with their season 2. Love the commentaries and the outtakes the most. Plus anything that they have that wasn't on the show. Of course I also rewatch all the shows again.

                            Hello Laurie

Everybody calls me Jumble, or Jumbly, because I prefer it

Oh me too! Love everything about DVD's, but most especially the Special Features. I was just a little disappointed in the lack of Martin on the Sanctuary S1 discs.

But that's just me I loved all the Director's Series and Mission Directives that he did on the SG-1 and Atlantis DVDs, so that's what I was hoping for from Sanctuary. Probably due to time restraints etc. Really really hoping for better on S2

Snuggling in anyone's jacket is really nice, but snuggling in Martin's jacket (of course with him in it ) can only be described as........

As for the DVD's. It was there first one. I think they will get better as time goes on. They get more people hired in the cast and crew. More people assigned to making the DVD's. I think each year they will get better. If you go to SE or AT5 - tell them you want more MW on the DVD. They only know these things if people tell them.

Now.....anyone have anything good for breakfast. I'm still hungry.
