Re: the podcast discussion. I think the podcasts are meant to be different than the DVD commentaries. I know Syfy has other podcasts but I don't watch much TV so I don't watch any of their other shows and therefore am unfamiliar with other podcasts. However, I think there was a comment early on in the Sanctuary podcasts implying they were meant to be lighter and not quite the same as the DVDs. I think that's why there is more goofing around.

I agree that DK was sometimes being silly during the season 1 commentaries but I wonder how many they do in a row. If they are doing a bunch all together, it would be natural to get a little punchy at the end. While it is great they are having fun, the fans do want to hear about the episode and the BTS stuff. On the other hand, I don't want them to get too technical. Frankly I want to know more about the actors, etc than the red camera.

Thanks to Pengyn, SamJackShipLover and Mala for the sig.

      Yes.
Because GW is awesome! Really, really awesome. Almost as awesome as TPTB.
I love GW! It's pretty and inspires me to greatness.

Being original is difficult when you can't stop quoting your favorite tv show, For crying out loud!

Have you ever listened to his commentary on SGA The Hive? He did it alone because everyone else had gone off on their Christmas hols, and he did it so well It's my absolute favourite commentary ever

Edit: I was impressed that on Kali...

        Spoiler:
he managed to keep talking through the scene when Kali was nekkid in the pool, although he did say 'Why am I bothering to talk, no-one is listening!'
I haven't listened to The Hive commentary What season is it? And on his Kali comment. I haven't listened to that one yet but looking forward to it even tho' AT isn't on it *sniffles*

I'm with you and EH-T (look below ) in that I prefer a balance on the DVD's a little silliness along with actual information about the episodes. I also prefer a balance between technical info and stories about the "story". Sometimes the balance is there and sometimes it's not.

In the podcasts I expect them to be silly but a little info is also nice.

That's a good point in regards to DVD commentaries. If you do anything for along period of time, especially with friends, things can get silly and we know they are friends and co-workers.

          The Hive is SGA S2

I guess with the commentaries it depends on who you like and what you want to hear. Horses for courses

For me it'll always be Martin I want to hear, with some Amanda thrown in I don't want it to be all techincal, I just want to hear what they feel about the ep and how it was made, what was hard for them and what was fun, and that's what Martin and Amanda usually manage to do *shrugs*

            I don't have S2 of SGA only S4 (go figure )

That's what I was trying to say in my post but you said it much better.

Hmm. I looked up what the colour of your car says about you, and here's what I got....

If you're looking for someone who marches to the beat of their own drum, look for someone who drives a purple car. They are "creative, individualistic and original."

                  Purple: a self-assured driver with a love of all things beautiful;

The color of royalty, purple is the choice for those with above-average tastes but who may be a little vain and temperamental. Those who like purple usually are fond of the arts.

A purple vehicle means you are creative, individualistic, original. It could also mean you're too old to care what anyone thinks of you.

                  Uh-huh!

I wonder what a black car says about me? Not that we particularly chose the colour; it just happened to be the only limited version they had in the showroom at the time (and, actually, I've always thought the PT Cruiser looks rather tasty in that pearlised purple the do).
Actually, of all the cars I've had, the majority have been black.

I really should go to bed.

A black vehicle says you are empowered, not easily manipulated, love elegance, and you appreciate the classics. It's also says that you are mysterious or that you have two sides to your personality; it's the favoured car of both clergy and gangsters.

Black: a desire to stamp authority on other road users.

Black symbolizes success, elegance and power. Most limousines are black, indicating high status, and class as they cut quietly though the night.

Surprisingly enough it has been shown that black cars are most likely to be in an accident.
Owners of black cars tend to be aggressive drivers and have a rebel streak that they find hard to squelch. It makes sense when you consider that the danger-loving ‘bad guy’ in most Westerns rides a black horse.

Ooh, well, um, some of that is accurate. Or would be if I'd had a choice in the matter for any of them. As none of them were brand new I didn't. Actually the only car I got to chose the colour of was the 106 and that was blue, and that was only because we had a choice of blue, green or red and I dislike both red and green for cars.

One day I will order my own brand spanking new car. Oh yes I will.
