I think my problem is I can't get over the fact he's generally used as a foil for the other characters and relationships I adore that from a storytelling point-of-view, but as a character it makes him rather pathetic. IMHO, of course .

Um... I'm housesitting and they have three cats. Two of them are always around, but the third never shows up. I put food in his bowl and it's gone when I come back, but the cat? *shrugs*

My Monkey (she's a cat not an actual monkey but... never mind... ) does that. She disapears completely when we go away and leave neighbours to catsit. The other one - Legoals, is a complete tart. he will go to anyone for a cuddle and food.

But then I realized that I'd just seen a "running nekkid" comment welcoming me here, so I figured tongues were firmly planted in cheeks. The best place for tongues to be, IMHO! [/color
