What resolution you're using when making icons?

And it's official the icons are the hardest thing to make. It's frustrating, I can't make one good sam/jack icon. They all turn out cartoon-ish. I need to lay off the filters... but they're just so darn fun!

The standard I use for making icons is 100x100, r72 (some people make them 200x200 first but I find that that causes some blurring problems)

You see the reason I ask because I used 100x100 r3 for these. And it looks better then when I had it on 72... don't know if it's my comp messing with me. that is a possibility. lol. Thanks for the answer.

I tried with 150x150 first, and you're right it doesn't work. At least for the pickies I chose to mess with.
