The Anti Season 4 Thread (Spoilers). For complaints and misgivings ONLY.

So if S4 doesnt do well in the ratings, I wonder who 'fans' are going to blame?

TPTB have blamed the network, those naughty downloaders, and overall TV trends for SG1's fate and SGA's decreasing ratings up to now, so I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I prefer to place more of the blame on the show itself - no show bible, lack of character development, too much change and not enough direction, thinking comedy episodes like the "Irrs" were a good idea, etc. etc.

"Good" ratings for me would be 1.5 or higher. I think it's highly unlikely that Atlantis will gain above it's average of 1.2-ish in s3 though - the trends don't support that. It will probably start somewhat high for the premiere and go right back down to 1.2 or lower in s4. Sad to think about now, when back in s1 and s2 Atlantis was easily maintaining ratings in the 2s.

The other Treks aren't as good as those two. Voyager's too reset button, Enterprise is bipolar and TOS is predictable.

Flintstones are fun, as are the Jetsons and Scooby Doo!

Ooo, I approve of this list I've seen almost all of those shows. But Dexter, that is just beyond awesome. I just couldn't stop watching the episodes till I got to the end.

I recommend The Wire and Six Feet Under. Smart, complex, realistic, all around fantastic.

I need to finish B5 (stopped after s4) and DS9 (stopped after s4 or so). Those two always come up when people talk about the best SF series ever.

My anime recommendation list is way too long.

I would add The X-Files and both Sci Fi's Dune miniseries to the list. ST: TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY should be there as well, IMHO.

They are, Babylon 5 in the first four seasons was great and DS9 become good after it left the traditional Star Trek story format and got a large story arc in the last few seasons.

My anime recommendation list is way too long.

I always find it interesting to see that most Anime have better storylines than most western shows.
