I am dumb though. Although I must say that I had an entirely plausible explanation for the shield reduction. However that doesn't explain what would happen when they expand the shield. Theoretically they should suffocate due to lack of oxygen. But then again, we breathe in enough oxygen to power about four people (and exhale the rest). But Weir would survive and save the ship I mean city yet again

They wouldn't suffocate, if they had a machine capable of creating mass from scratch. You simply tell "Air" to the machine and it will make some. Some of my favorite moments in season four were the reactions to Elizabeth's fate. Ronon's, Teyla & Ronon packing up her office, John almost in tears, Rodney saying he couldn't deal with it yet, Carson looking sucker punched when told she is dead...

Great reactions to a character who wasn't that important, eh?

Yes, those moments were some of my favorite as well. It would have been nice if there were more of them. If you want to make a story really dark, you show the emotional and psychological suffering of the characters. They didn't use Elizabeth's disappearance/death to the fullest effect. Since they had to kill her....

Wow. Really? People actually get that from LOTR? I can't comment coz I haven't seen it (shame, but in my defence it is soooo long), but I would never really pick up on that from a movie. But it is true that it is like BC - just the highlights package . As for the other, well I guess the grass is always greener... Hence my current ANTI statis Been to USA (West and East coast, not the vast middle areas) and BC. Great places, different reasons. One day I will get to the UK. Most of the people I travelled with are from there. And apparently most of the ANTIS

You should watch the films sometime. They are long, and I have some issues with the last two, but they are well worth viewing. Oh, yeah, at least some people here got that from LOTR. I remember one reviewer said NZ was Middle Earth because it was this gorgeous, magical place we'd never seen before (my apologies, not many Kiwi films have become part of our pop culture here). But yeah, most people I know who've seen the films want to know where it was filmed, then remark on how beautiful New Zealand is.

In general, the less power the city has, the less technology is available for use in it, and indeed a large amount of technology and functionality was never even noticed until greater power was supplied. For these reasons, locating and acquiring ZPMs is one of the standing orders of any team from Atlantis, especially as these devices are now extremely rare and impossible to recharge.

Is it true what they say on WIKI about the stardrive?

The Atlantis stardrive has since been disabled and repaired by members of the Atlantis expedition following two Asuran attacks on the city. By removing the safeguards and writing new programming code for the city, Dr McKay and Colonel Sheppard managed to use a single ZPM and a geothermal power station to get the city off the surface and into hyperspace. Interestingly the stardrive configuration has changed. When leaving Earth Atlantis had three drives, one on every two piers. When leaving Lantea the drive clearly has the Asuran configuration of a stardrive engine on each pier. Whether this is because the Asurans repaired the damage done by Dr. Beckett and added these, or if the ship from The Tower was the original ship seen in Rising, or if the Ancients themselves upgraded it at some point while in Pegasus is unknown.
