If there is a big fan demo planned with flaming torches and pitchforks, I don't think it involves anyone here. The lengths certain people will go to to make us look bad just because we don't like a few things that are happening astound me. It's getting to the point of absurdity. I really don't like this shut up and take it attitude.
Boy do I agree with this!!! I hate the fact that I censure my posts because I know I'll just get jumped on. Most of the time I end up not posting at all. I feel like if you are anti or even sitting on the fence, whatever you have to say is not welcome at all. Well, I've decided I'm at least going to say my piece.

BTW - I'm going to watch the first part of season 4, then see how I feel. But I'm definitely more anti than pro.

And to keep this post slightly on topic, one the of reasons I'm unhappy about season 4 is it sounds like right away they are going to have friendships formed between the three women (Teyla, Sam, Keller). My pro side says great, it will be nice to finally see that. My anti side wins this argument though, because they had 3 years to do this with Teyla and Elizabeth and they barely scratched the surface. How am I supposed to invest in these new friendships when one I really wanted to see has been abandoned?

I hope people ask the right questions but politely and with respect at the ComicCon otherwise it will be boring with all the praise for season 4 that will definitely be done by JM, Tapping, Hewlett.

            Hi all!

I don't mean to intrude, but how would you hate Sam without watching SG1?

i don't watch it anymore.. i used to watch but quit about season 4 when they quit showing it here for about 2 years.. i never did get back in to it. I liked it but it was never my fav by a long shot. I didn't really care to much when they quit showing it cause at the time i was really in to some other shows anyways

and i have always hated sam

i liked daniel, and may watch it again...but its hard to get past how annoying sam is

i have watched the odd episode since, but only when bored

OK, here are some obvious and potential s4 issues I picked up while reading s4 spoiler threads:

SG: Carter/SGA-1: making SG-1 Carter the new leader of Atlantis despite ranking/experience problems and almost instantly giving her a big role in some sort of Pegasus Galaxy prophecy. Messiah Carter?

Dr. Keller: since Carter will manage to arrive at Atlantis, why not send a more experienced doc to lead the city's medical staff?

Dr. Weir's demotion: what will happen to Dr. Weir? Death? (again) Ascension? (again) Will she go like Hammond/O'Neill? (again) Will she be taken over by nanites and become part Asuran? (not entirely new - RepliCarter) Or will they literally "pull a Ford" and ditch her like a freak?

Alliance with the Wraith: seriously, how can something that goes against the food chain work? If anything, I've always thought the Tau'ri would eventually find more common ground with the Asurans than the Wraith. Besides, why make the Asurans the bad guys in the story? Replicator prejudice?

Crossover/Earth-based eps: never had a problem with both, but is it a good idea now that Carter joined SGA? She is a big SG-1 crossover after all.

Teyla's pregnancy: couldn't the writers come up with an "embark in a profound journey" or "kidnap" plot to avoid introducing another mythical child (or bug) pregnancy on Stargate?

Travelers: why not introduce a fairly advanced PG alien species that lives in multigenerational ships to avoid the Wraith etc. instead of Genii 2.0?

You know, if one removes the whole 'Weir leaving and Carter coming' from Atlantis (which is what most people are talking about), and one just examines the episodes on their own - I find the episodes that will be airing quite disappointing. Especially Teyla's storyline. I know there isn't much they could do with her given real life issues, but it doesn't really bring too much excitement to the show. IMO.

I think that if the do get a S5, it will be based on SCIFI wanting 100 episodes which will help it sell the show in syndication.

I agree with you about that last one to a certain extent, they could have done a little more thinking about the Travellers. But after so many years of Wraith culling, it makes sense that some cultures would get sick of constantly being their prey and make an effort to get out from under the heel of the Wraith. If the people had any sense at all, they would at least attempt to "pull a Genii" and advance beyond the level of tech the Wraith want to keep them at. It makes sense that one or more cultures besides the Genii were able to pull this off.

Great. Now I feel like I'm sticking up for them...

Well, I'm not totally against the Travelers concept either. I just think they're not something incredibly new/creative as some are suggesting. IMO, they're nothing more than a "Genii meet Volcano people" type of civilization.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's something MGM will want, not SciFi, since NBCUniversal won't be the ones selling the show to syndication. MGM is the one that sees the benefit (and profit) of syndication; not the network. If SciFi decides that the series is more expensive than its worth for a S5, they will not renew it.

Yes big problem. Taking into acount that for the previous leader we expected 3 seasons for somenthing important to happen to the character and impact the story and justity her development and screen time and ... nothing.

Yes i wonder just that! The experience do not count for nothing with these guys? The first time when they did it was in "the Lost City" then SGA. I know that a language ultra expert (5 LANGUAGES: english, russian,...) and university teacher is very very very strong material, but to entrust the Earth's security and several hundreds of civilian and military personal to such unexperienced doctor (see, doctor again ) seem a little paranoic to me. What do you think? Of course no important stuff here, just a expedition in another galaxy, usual bureaucrating stuff, but still...

Neither of it. I belive that she will recover her injurry and this new experience for her will made her to see the light, meaning the reality and step down, resign, go back to university teaching desk, rewriting her memoires. Bye.

Yes seem strange isn't it. But i hope that this new alliance will be more rewarding than the last one, made by .... you know who. Maby we even end up with some "spoils of war" who knows. Of course the dilemma, if were to choose the bigger threat, Wraith or Replicators. Let's see in the right corner we have a specie that hunt our kind from survival, in the left corner we have another species who hunt our kind for .... feel free to input any reason (i'm blank right now). The first ones we can kill being organic based, the second not really and not for good, being technological, replicative and adaptive based, the first one are in civil war, on the path of their own destruction with organic based ships, unshielded, and not very performant hiperdrive, the second are just like ancient technological level maby higher, ships capable of inter-galactic travel and aware of the Earth location and with a serious grudge against as, apparently. Who is the greater evil? Hard question, i don't vote.

Good point. After bringing a blonde which is born on Earth and play most of her SG-1 role like a employee to a organisation (SGC) from Earth, it is really wise now that she moved her residence in Pegasus Galaxy to have any SGA episode Earth-based? I think not.

Yes they could have it differently. I don't know why they found this pregnancy Teyla's arc more appropiate. To be honest, i think they (writers) don't like us, antis, very much. They do the story with the clear purpope to annoy us, by not considering our ideas, which are better, always.

Yes i don't understand very well what you say here. But if you reffer to why they didn't make a advance race, underground based, instead of spaceship based ... I don't know, maby to not use the same tactic like in the Genii case. Actually i'm quite sure that is more safer in a moving ship to escape the Wraith than underground. Despite the apparences, the Wraith can really attack on foot if they want to, or a Geni spy tip them off or a advance race location. Meanwhile i don't see them following hundreds of years a ancient ship faster than thei hives. But hey ... stay negative please!

guys, since weir is hardly going to be in s4 and when she is, from all intents and purposes, won't be in command....how does her command weaknesses fit into a thread dedicated to what folks find wrong in season 4?

How about we take all the weir issues to threads dedicated to the character adn leave this as a place for people to commiserate about what they dislike about season 4?

but if mgm is willing to pay them enough, scifi might keep it on the air.

from my understanding, what got s11 cancelled was that scifi was paying $X per episode. they wanted to be paid $Z, mgm said 'no, we wont' pay more than $Y' and an impasse was reached

If mgm wants s5 badly enough, they just might pony up whatever scifi demands to air it
