So, after years and years, I decided to rewatch SG-1's Children of the Gods last night.

Question: when did Stargate as a whole become idiotic comedy?

When Mallozzi and Mullie took over.... Irresponsible or Travelers are made as comedies. Irresponsible is just stupid and Travelers boring, Kirk-like Sheppard´s action.

The answer to the question at hand is YES...stargate as a whole has become and idiotic comedy.

This is due to tptb insisting that "Stargate is actually a comedy disguised as a science fiction show." which was stated by JM in his blog of doom during season 9 of SG-1.

Since JM is one of tptb I presume that thought pattern is still prevalent.

Whereas imho SG1 was originally a science fiction show with *humorous moments.* And it wasn't 6th grade humor either.

Atlantis episodes often have a half way decent premise, but the actual scripts tend to be pretty lackluster, imho. 99% of the so-called humor I don't find funny.
