Nope, not at all... It just couldn't deliver... it fell extremely flat.

Here be my view, what I posted in the episode-thread. I can see the lovers of the episode rip my post apart already and asking what I want for Teyla if she's indeed my favorite character. Why don't I like it? Teyla's your favorite character, isn't she?

Spoiler:

Finally after much patience and mental preparation I watched The Kindred I... Here be my view:

The good:
* Michael's new look - I think I can positively say he's my favorite villain after Kolya
* Rodney giving his pre-baby present to Teyla - cute
* Rachel did good with what she was given
* the team walking in the field - I sincerely missed that

The bad:
* Teyla's Z-plot

* continuity:
a) oh btw, the Hoffans were destroyed by the Wraith
b) The Kindred continues the Missing story, 11 episodes too late
c) suddenly there's a disease we haven't heard about till now, even though they've been tracking it for a couple of months now

* connecting jewelry to people we've never heard or seen before, it's an empty element
* the forced "Call me Sam"-moment, oh please... give me a break
* the costume department needs to rethink their ways of dressing the characters, they don't look particularly flattering in all that leather, and Teyla doesn't look flattering at all... Rachel looks sexy as hell, even pregnant she is a beauty, but they could have gone with better maternity clothes than some of what is shown.

Overall, I'm glad I didn't anticipate too much, cause it fell flat... F-L-A-T, flat! Not even Carson's appearance phased me. I was bored. And I was thinking... Oh boy, how I'm looking forward to season 5. [insert serious sarcasm]

I just had my fashion guru rant on my journal after I saw some pics from the episode.

Here be the fashion guru's judgment:

Spoiler:

* WTF is Teyla wearing? Can't they understand that a woman can look stunning and beautiful even when fully dressed?! Dignity anyone?

* Carter and her aged motor bike gang queen look. Please! She used to be a scientist with tidy hair and uniform!!! Again: dignity anyone??

* Sheppard, you ain't the Man in Black. There was only one Man in Black, for crying out loud, you look like a crow.

*can people on this show look any more ridiculous than they do now? I bet they can. Great accomplishments by wardrobe department!
