Every time, I see Carson's comeback line I crack up. The story goes something like this:

Carson: "What took you so long?"
Sheppard: "You know Carson we were busy. We thought you were dead and we did not really care about Teyla's people. We had to babysit some spoiled brat who has no connection to Atlantis, then I had to be tied in a chair because I wanted some, then I had to win some euros at a fight, you know the usual. We kind of forgot about the we don't leave people behind thing. We have better things to do than look for the Athosians. For example, we were busy telling who would you date jokes in a ditch, and Rodney was busy throwing like a girl .

carson's comeback line...I never gave it much thought till now. Interesting to see how tptb will pull that off and not make the show look even worse.

My take on carson's come back line:

carson: What kept you?

Shep: Well, we thought you were dead and all.

carson: why would you think I'm dead?

Shep: Well, a tumor exploded and killed ya.

carson: That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Micheal laced Atlantis water supply and gave you all a mass hallucination. I was kidnapped at gun point right before your glazy, drug induced eyes.

shep: Hallucination? So, did wier really become a replicator was that a hallucination too?"

carson: Elizabeth Weir? She died over a year ago. Colonel Carter is filling in for Woosley...our new leader.

shep: Oh, yeah...that's right.

*never mentions weir again*

Do not worry! The big reset button will make sure Beckett's clone is "our" Beckett in no time. By the end of season 4, nobody will remember Beckett is a clone anymore.
