The Anti Season 4 Thread (Spoilers). For complaints and misgivings ONLY.
I dont know about any of you guys, but I can barely sit through an episode od SG1. I dont know why , but for some reason it seems too ridiculous sometimes. I didnt become a stargate fan until Atlantis premiered, it seemed more real that scientists would be heading an operation instead of the US Air Force.

Well, I have been watching SG1 since it first aired on TV some 10 years ago. I loved the show, still do but not as much as I love Atlantis-That-Was. I actually stopped running around in the SG-1 fanfic-dom as soon as I discovered Atlantis. I used to write SG1 but that has long changed, as did the reading of fic.

Exactly what I think, unfortunately it will not longer be scientists heading the operation with Carter coming over. I also enjoyed the fact that Atlantis was a globally collaborated effort, and not just the US military coming into control of powerful alien technology. With Carter onboard the show will basically turn into a rehash of SG1, which I hate to see happen, because I think it is wonderful with the cast they have. TPTB just need to come up with original and creative writing like they did in the beginning of SG1

I agree. SGA is obviously sci-fi etc., but the show is/was more realistic to me than SG-1.
Wow...I never thought I would see the day when Stargate fans would be dishing it on Atlantis...not that it isn't deserved, but it surprises me.
I do have to agree with most of what I've read, however. Killing off characters right and left and bring in Sam is not necessary. I agree that Daniel would be a better choice, and that the characters don't have enough backstory.
There is a bigger problem however. Where the hell is this show going? We haven't heard about the Weith since season 2, and there is no direction. There are no story arcs, and nothing is making since. This reminds me of Star Trek's worse times.

Ahh, but we're heading into the replicator story these past couple of seasons *gags* The wraith were so much more fun, with the replicators its like, uh we've been here done this, they beat em on SG1, now can't you just let it be!!

Well, Antis oppose unnecessary cast changes and SG: Carter. That's about it. Other than that, we're all PRO Stargate Atlantis, but we also reckon the writers could have done a better job on seasons 1-3.
