I am excited, I am hopeful. Just cautiously.

I hear ya. If she does not return next season I'll be pissed. I'll probably be hit the hardest since I am more optimistic than a lot of other folks. I think I should be more cautious.

Like I've been saying, to not continue Weir and this story for next season would be show suicide, imo. You gave the audience a teaser and they WANT Weir, now it's time to fufill that.

I dunno, I'm just a little annoyed, I thought after this thing with Weir people would have more hope now for her return. I guess I was wrong.

In my case, it comes down to two things:

1) They haven't directly said that Weir is returning. Yes, since they said they're going to be revisiting her storyline the obvious assumption is that we'll see her in s5. But dealing with TPTB has left a very sour taste in my mouth and now I take what they say with the same amount of belief than what any run of the mill politician would say. It's pretty obvious that we're not getting the whole story regarding Torri and Amanda. And of course TPTB are going to respond to controversial decisions in a manner that promotes them and the show, but isn't necessarily accurate. So I'm not going to blindly believe anything they say, especially when we only hear their side of the story and the facts that they choose to release. It's like blindly believing the story put forth in a govt. report.

2) I'm still so peeved over them dumping Torri in the first place that pretty much nothing they could do now could make things 100% right. Even bringing back Torri full time and replacing Amanda wouldn't make me happy, as a) it would make everyone wonder why they got rid of Torri for just 1 season and b) it jerks around Amanda, which is just rude. If TPTB wanted to reduce Torri's role then they could have done so and kept her, instead of moving her aside and then bringing in Amanda as the proposed ratings-getter. Their decision to go so far as to dump her implies that they just weren't interested in writing for her, which is a complete and utter cop-out.

I gotta tell ya TOF, if they revisit this story arc without Torri/Weir that will leave a sour taste in my mouth as well. I could of accepted a death where she saves Sheppard's or Mckay's life, then I move on, case closed. But this amazing new interesting story arc continued without Weir? I think Joe would be getting a lot of hate mail if they chose to do that.

I'm forgiving. I just don't trust anything they say anymore.

I'm not forgiving, at this point I'm not even sure I could go back to watching that crap SGA even if they brought back Weir full time. I hate this show now and I don't trust tptb one bit.

Even if they brought her back I'd just be waiting to see how they'd screw her up again, who will they replace next and which character from SG1 will they bring in to replace them.

SGA used to be a piece of cheese and corn but a feel good show at the same time, they took that away from me, and if someone wants to jump in with the "oh but the uncertainty makes it more exciting", well, on their beloved SG1 the main characters were always safe, they might have been hurt, or about to die, but they NEVER did (unless the actor wanted to leave as was the case with MS - tptb wouldn't have done to AT, RDA or MS what they to Torri). O'neill and Carter Sue would have never been killed and people knew that.

Well, Atlantis fans don't have that luxury, we know our characters mean nothing to tptb, that for tptb SGA is nothing but a vehicle to keep their beloved SG1 alive, and that any of the characters we love may be replaced at any given moment by one of the great SG1 characters just because to tptb SGA characters mean NOTHING (unless it's McKay of course, and even him could be replaced if tptb got MS to do SGA, they'd jump at the chance and bring Vala too - and then Teyla would be a goner - because who's Daniel without Vala? BOOORING) and SG1 characters are almighty (almighty ratings-sucking blackhole L-M-A-O).

regardless i'll say, folks this IS the safe haven for folks to express all that they dislike about s4, and NOT substantiate or discuss it.

There is something that bothers me, and it is the posters who come here pretending to be open minded and then go to the PRO thread to talk about how those antis just won't accept the facts ('facts' as in their opinion), as if we were just a bunch of uneducated people who won't listen to the smart crowd.

Yes, it might look like teasing, but in context and knowing that later this same person who seems to only be joking will go somewhere and complain about how tired they are from trying to use reason with those savages antis, that's what pisses me off.

And yes (because I know you're going to ask that), I have reported some of the offending posts on that other thread, but I don't get it, if it's so tiring to talk to us, nobody is forcing them to read the thread, and 'educating us' isn't their duty.

ETA: Sky, I know there is probably nothing you can do, as the posts are within the rules and people can read and post in whatever threads they want to, but I just want you to have some context to analyze this situation.

And I dislike seeing pros complaining specifically about the antis on their thread (or any general thread for that matter), so I think we should make an effort to not do the reverse in this thread. In particular, I don't think we should be making disparaging comments about pro posters by name, especially when they don't post here. There's so much to rant about regarding s4, TPTB, character direction (or lack thereof), plot holes, death instead of depth, etc. etc. that we should be focusing on that instead of other posters.

By all means, report offending posts no matter where they are. I do. But I think we should try to keep what's going on at GW (esp. in terms of who's posting what where and who redded whom for what) off this thread as much as possible. That way we can keep the focus on the show instead of the fandom and fine tune our rage.

My name was mentioned here many times in the past. So, I was mentioning it to PG15, sorta as a joke, but I guess people took it a little offensive. So I apologize. As per what Luz said, I won't ever call out or make fun or even insult another member in the Pro-thread. I have said that I'm annoyed at how certain people take news and whatnot but I am talking in general. Not just this forum.

This whole Weir thing for an example, really has just annoyed me. Maybe I should be more cautious like some other folks.
