but to me they all have seemed just 'off' this year.

Yep. In fact, I think some characters are OOC in s4 because of this. Sheppard is not Sheppard. McKay is not McKay. Something definitely changed.

Joe Flanigan, I think, said he does more listening this season than he has in the past. I think that's part of a thing where the Elizabeth role is kind of split between him and Carter. She's not there often enough to do it (just often enough to annoy us...), so maybe some of it falls to him.

That would certainly explain some of the differences with Shep.

I have to agree with you on this one. When Sheppard sees FRAN he reacts exactly like Weir. That was something I liked in BAMSR. I love the way he gets all mad and plays the Weir "snap decision" approach

For all my sins remember'd, I think it was due to the episode being quite badly written. It contained any lines which were supposed to be funny, I didn't laugh at all and the actors did seem more uncomfortable in their roles.

That's the key word, IMO. Nobody is relaxed anymore. Maybe they are afraid of also being kicked out?

Falcon Horus, Happy Belated Birthday! My birthday was the 5th as well. It sounds like you had a nice time. I don't know about you, but often it sucks like SGA season 4 for me to have a birthday so close to Christmas. This year I actually had a surprise party though, since it was one of the "big" birthdays.

I went iceskating with friends, and half my family. And in the evening we played with my present which was a Disney-Pixar version of Monopoly (I played with Lightning McQueen - also has Buzz Lightyear, Mr. Incredible, Remy, Sully & Boo, Nemo). I lost, went completely broke. But I had fun, lots of fun!

And yeah, my b'day is lodged in with all the celebrating, Christmas - New Year - Birthday. I don't hate it, but it's all at once and that's not always fun.

At this point I really don't care anymore. I have my beliefs and other people have theirs. I just care about the well being of the show. BTW, I'd rather defend the show itself than the producers. They've done some not so great decisions in the past.
