One word (that's lacking in PTB's minds): continuity.

And it doesn't take season-long story arcs to achieve continuity. Example: Farscape (many standalone eps + a lot of continuity). Not that there's anything wrong with season-long arcs.

There was no need to delete the posts that weren't breaking any rules, like mine. Do the mods just go around now, deleting whatever they feel like?

your post was deleted because it quoted a post that quoted the off topic post. It's part of cleaning up the incursion into your thread.

When we clean up off topic we can either delete all the effected posts or go through and edit them. Quite often, the most time expedient thing is to delete them, especially when dealing with multiple posts

If people would just report the off topic posts, ignore them and move on with your discussions, all that would be deleted would be the ONE off topic post
