The Anti Season 4 Thread (Spoilers). For complaints and misgivings ONLY.

Upon several PM-exchanges, a few unnamed characters decided upon starting a new haven for the Anti's to join in off-topic talk. Real life events, other fandoms... a thread to socialize to our heart's content.

Pro's are welcome too btw. I just want everybody to feel at home, BUT I demand we all respect one another. Anti's and Pro's are equals in The Stinky Sock Association thread.

Dear members of the Stinky Sock Association (SSA),

We all know how hard it sometimes is to keep a thread on topic and how easy it is to stray of the path of topic-ness.
The Stargate Atlantis Anti's already know what the Stinky Sock is all about, and hereby I extend this meaningful something to other area's in our lives.

I imagine there's much to vent or rant about, which seems very out of place in the anti/pro-threads and therefor I open this place up to everyone who wishes to do so.

This is first and foremost a thread created for the people currently posting in the Anti-season 4 of Stargate Atlantis-thread, but others are more than welcome to join.

Talk about Stargate Atlantis is allowed, but should be kept to a minimum, although I imagine that once a certain item of one certain member comes into play some of us can't help themselves by swooning all over the place (can't say I blame them, for I swoon over my own psychological things).

Be thy anti or pro, it doesn't matter, everyone in here is equal to the other. RESPECT is a key-word and if I should come across anything disrespectful, thy shall be warned. Three strikes you're out (of course figuratively speaking since I don't have that power)!

Talk about your new shows that you like, real life events, other fandoms, celebrity-crushes/swoons, ... everything that you feel the world should know or that you want to get off your chest.

See, I'm down with all that, boobies? no hate for the boobies from me, love the brainless space battles, shooting and killing? bring it on! I say, blood, gore, action? YAY! as long as I get to keep my hot, smart, sensitive female characters (btw, what's with the hatred for non-blond females?), but alas tptb seem to hate those, so they get either killed or wallpapered.

True enough. In fact, it's pretty amazing how nothing awful seems to happen to Stargate's PTB despite the continuous misdoings. It must be some sort of 'pact with the devil' thing at work. If I screwed things up so badly, I know I'd be fired in a split sec.

Perhaps I should explain this. I wasn't suggesting that the Random British RSM would commit any violence agains JF. Nothing is further from the truth. The pain would come from the way JF is using the weapon on SGA. Let me explain to you what would've happened, had JF's P-90 been loaded with real ammo:

1. The first bullet would give JF a quite severe kinetic kick (app 520 Joules) that he would be unable to fully absorb due to the position of the gun against his shoulder. This would cause the weapon to slip to a spot between his arm and chest.

2. The kinetic kick from the next bullet would be divided between his arm and chest. The kinetic energy affecting his arm would cause all muscles in his hand to convulse on reflex, rendering JF unable let go of the trigger.

3. The weapon would cease firing after app. 4 seconds (the magazine would be empty). During these 4 seconds, JF's body would receive a total of app 26,000 Joules worth of kinetic energy. This would leave JF's arm sore to a point where he wouldn't be able to lift a bottle of beer for 2 weeks to follow. The ribs in his chest are hard tissue. Up to 5 of them would fracture under the kinetic stress.

I like a bit of action, but I want it to mean something. I want the story to be there for the characters, not the other way around. Whumpage, well.. yes, I have to admit I like a bit of whumpage.

I like a good plot, but in all honesty I watched Atlantis for the crack and the cheese, and because I absolutely loved the characters, even if the plots were lacking sometimes I didn't mind because I like a healthy dose of CGI.

Would I have protested if the stories got better and we got a bit of consistent storytelling? of course not, but when all I got were pretty people and shiny effects I was happy because that's what got me into SGA.

You know the rest, they got rid of the one who was for me the prettiest of them all.
