I can understand how you feel and why, but none of us here can look at this issue through your eyes - well at least people who don't have your experience. Show writers included - those guys never had to suffer that kind of stuff.

Pardon me once more for pointing out the fictional part. Never take movies/tv shows to accurately portray RL. Maybe I am watching it wrong. Maybe I should always look & learn about RL on TV?

That's fair enough Pajus, i've worked in war zones with the UN, and while I was a civvy, I was with the lads near the front line. While I may not have experienced being thrown in the brig, or crawling through mud (unless you count paintballing) This is a completely different set up, it's fictional, and like it or not the hero will get to do things that normal squaddies would get hauled over the coals for. How do we know though that he doesn't get chewed out 'behind the scenes' or that he hasn't got reprimands on his file from certain things carried out in the PG?

This isn't real life hon, and while art can imitate life, it's not always the case. And with Scifi you do have a certain creative liscence...

Hmmmm complaints and misgivings, I would like to see more snarky Rodney back, we need more of that. I think Rodney is suffering (bless his lil heart), but I miss the snarkiness.

I am sorry, but I can not repeat what was said, as it bothers me infinitely. Maybe some of the other nice folks here would oblige.

As for the TPTB -- well, they write & direct the show, they can & will say whatever they want. Don't believe everything you hear. Make your own conclusions.

I was an Air Force brat for 22 years and have worked with the Army, Navy, and Air Force for going on 13 years. I know people who are exactly like Sheppard, so for me the writing of Sheppard is not that far off. So I guess it does depend on your experience and where you sit on the fence with things doesn't it. If you don't like someone to begin with, where can you possibly go from there? And for the record the only person I never liked on SGA was Ford, now there was a young man who didn't belong (sorry) and he certainly wasn't worthy as 2IC.

Travelers. I was very dissapointed, because I had expected it to be great. Obviously it wasn't. For me anyways.

For me? Probably Tabula Rasa and Missing. I need to rewatch TR because so many people keep saying how good it was, but I watched it twice, and something about it just doesn't work for me. Missing - well, it was mostly the obvious problem (Keller), which was a shame because this was the episode I was most looking forward to.

Looking forward to the second half, I can pretty much guess that Trio is going to be my worst of the season though. I hope I'm wrong - I have been before, but everything points to it being completely cringeworthy.

i haven't watched them all... i couldn't stand it anymore... even the 'safe versions' but TR was the only one i didn't out and out hate... it only stunk to make my eyes water.. not enough to induce vomiting. I think, and this is just an idea... that you hated it cause of keller and not carson? Its kind of glaring that he's missing... i kept thinking.. how much better it would have been with carson... hehe mind you i probably only could stand it cause of the shep whump... love that man

Probably because me and Pajus have been involved with various parts of the military and we spit nails when we see what a sloppy soldier Sheppard is and Sheppard bashing is always fun as is Carter bashing, Keller Bashing, Weir bashing, we've all been guilty of bashing someone's favourite character so don't take it personally

I was in the canadian military for 2 1/2 years... and i don't mind it one bit that shep is sloppy i think its part of his character and i like him more for it. I don't care if its inaccurate. I think he has been out of character for most of what i've seen of season 4... its the shep from season 1-3 i adore. Truly the whole show doesn't follow military standards. sam's hair *shudder*...there are loads of inaccuracies.

and of course i don't get an opinion... but i don't mind shep bashing... even though he is my fav... as long as the thread doesn't get taken over by it.
Nor should it get taken over by any one character bashing. I hate Keller and Sam... but i do my best not to bash them all the time (and i am not saying anyone was)

There are times I have to just log out and take deep breaths, it's when I want to bash the living daylights out of those two characters, I hate them so much and if profanity was allowed at GW I could show how I really feel about them, words cannot express.

I love Sheppard, but if characters can be loved they can be hated too, I won't begrudge anyone the pleasure of bashing their most hated characters.

They were the only proper Ally we ever had. Having the Asgards in S4 does not justify the tech we have on the Ody so after unending the Asgard arc will blow up in their face....

That was part of it. I think that was the first episode that I really really missed Carson in. Keller was just so flat and monotone through the whole thing - that irritated me. Um...the gate control crystal thing bugged me for some reason. That they couldn't use the puddlejumper DHD didn't make sense - it was like, since when? I must have missed some relatively obsure point of Stargate tech trivia, because I always thought the only way to disable a gate was to bury it. Is the Atlantis gate special somehow and I missed it? The whole search for Teyla thing also fell flat - at the end I was like - they went through all of this to find her, just so she could tell Rodney to push the Enter key? That was a major letdown.
