Sadly, it will ruin the whole thing for me, cause she's the only reason I'm still watching the show. Though I understand the reasoning behind it, don't get me wrong here. But still, it's not gonna be as enjoyable without her around.

Yeah Falc, I agree that it will be a shame that she may not be there, but I guess there really was nothing her or tptb could do at that time with her being so far on in the pregnancy. I've seen footage of her from the last day she was on set in a special about season 4 and she looked almost ready to give birth. Good on her for doing so much of the season, I doubt tptb would have forced her to so much had she said no to it. She is a great woman. I guess I could say the same about all female Stargate actresses though. the regulars anyway.

I'm just happy she is back for season 5. Luckily the show tends to be very accomodating for situations like these, as I'm sure they were with Amanda and Claudia. Obviously Rachel is getting the same treatment.

Anyway, her possible absence will be partially made up by the (IMO) great guest list for the ep, despite the fact that Joe originally told us that there would be a very small guest list. Obviously things changed, or I just have a very different opinion of the word small compared to him lol.

I'm kind of meh towards those episodes on the back half, but if I had to pick I'm sorta, kinda, looking forward to the Kindred (both parts) and The Last Man.

I'm definitely not looking foward to Trio mainly because I don't care for this particular threesome being stuck together and also Quarantine, again because of who is supposed to be together. On the bright side, I'm expecting nothing from these two episodes so anything I like will be better than nothing.

I'm still waiting for Teyla's arc to kick into high gear. Of course, it's only been 10 episodes...

I'm not fully anti, but I've been more unhappy than not with the last few episodes - does that qualify?

The promo the other night got me excited - it really did look cool, but then I started thinking about the actual lineup, and how the pre S4 promo looked really cool too and then didn't pan out, and I kinda got discouraged again. I keep hoping it'll get better, but....

I know that the episode I am looking forward to the least, by FAR, is Trio.
            Spoiler:
I'm not happy with Carter or Keller, and even though I like Rodney, this just looks like another excuse to make him look like a lecherous idiot. I feel like Rodney's really getting a beating this year - how many times has he screwed up now?

Probably the Kindred episodes are what I'm looking forward to the most. And maybe The Last Man.

            Quarantine -
            Spoiler:
we just had a Atlantis epidemic type episode with Tabula Rasa. I know it doesn't look like it's an actual epidemic this time, but do we really need two episodes that similar in the same season? They really really need to get away from the base. This was a major problem in S8 of SG-1, and it's irritating me that they're doing the same thing here. And Rodney and Katie locked up together? Not really that exciting. I'd rather he was out there trying to solve the problem.

            Outcast -
            Spoiler:
I was more excited about this one before the season started. Now I'm not really so much. We'll see, but Alan McCullough has so far failed to impress me with any of his episodes. I know a lot of people liked Tabula Rasa, but I really didn't care for it that much. And The Seer had a lot of issues, not least that it wasn't really about the Seer at all.

            Harmony -
            Spoiler:
Normally I would be excited about a McShep episode, but I usually don't like episodes with kids. We'll see.

            Midway -
            Spoiler:
eh, I'm a little irritated by the promos of Teal'c coming to Atlantis and criticizing Ronon. I think I'm just a little sensitive, but I'm not one who thought SG-1 was better in all things. We'll see.

BAMSR and Spoils of War - I don't know.

Yeah well... wouldn't want anything going wrong either. Just lucky she held out long enough.

Unfortunately I don't care about the rest of the cast as much as I do about Teyla. I don't tend to watch episodes without her more than once. And they never make it to excellent either. It's just me...can't help it.

If Teyla would no longer be there and Rachel would choose to move onto something else. I'd stop watching for I do watch for the characters and not the stories. The stories are secondary to the characters.

I think it will never start...or blink and you'll miss it. It was just something to keep the Teyla-fans watching.

Also I just watched Letters From Pegasus and I realized that Kavanagh is the personification of TPTB.

There might be something in BAMSR or Spoils of War. Otherwise, no - I don't think we'll see anything until Kindred.

Why couldn't they have written more episodes with the team out there looking for Teyla's people? What is the deal with splitting them all up?

Trio right now looks completely unnecessary. As does Harmony. And Quarantine. While I admit I'm looking forward to
                Spoiler:
getting more Shep backstory in Outcast, we've already had one earth episode this year. And Midway? That might fit into the arc somehow, but at the moment it looks more like a vehicle to be able to bring Teal'c in and have their Teal'c/Ronon fight.

I'd trade all of these five for some good team out in the field episodes. *sigh* Maybe next year, when they don't have to work around Rachel's pregnancy and they're not so worried about introducing Carter and Keller. *still holding onto fragments of hope*

Now for me it's the other way round, I used to watch Atlantis for the stories, I didn''t particularly like Weir, Rodney irritated the hell out of me and I hate Sheppard with a passion usually reserved for my boss but I still kept watching for the stories in S1 & 2 S3 began to grate after the mid season 2-parter and by the end I lost interest completely and buried myself in Dr Who and 4400

Ah, Doctor Who and The 4400, both series with a high cast turnover and with good and consistant arcs. At least in those two series, and especially the latter, every episode contributes to the main arc, both have character development and are sort of realistic; if you make a stupid mistake you can get seriously injured or die or other people die. I really wish I could say the same of SGA where, in constrast to those shows mentioned, every action doesn't have consequences.

Killdeer, I agree with your analysis of the upcoming eps. It will be interesting to see how we feel at the end of the season. For me, the first half was just average and that was with my favorite character still somewhat there. Now that she is effectively gone, and quite frankly I doubt they will mention her much at all in the second half, I'm curious as to how much I will like it.

I can watch a crappy story if I love the characters enough.

Re: Kavanagh, I think he's supposed to be in an episode later. Now that you've put this image in my head, I'll be watching him very closely. LOL

I personally think we're going to see a lot of Sam in the second half. Things could get really interesting in the fandom...

There are varying degrees of anti, sweetie. Even we clash with each other sometimes.
