Because she lost her SG1 leadership to newbie Mitch in s9? I mean, I can kinda understand how TPTB see her as the ideal blend of military and science to compliment the military and science aspects of Atlantis. But TPTB really screwed her over in s9 and s10 regarding her leadership abilities.


Seriously, I wonder if TPTB were trying to make amends for "shafting" Carter/Amanda in SG1 by letting her assume the leadership role on SGA. Of course, that implies that Weir/Torri was shafted for Carter. That is, if you don't believe TPTB when they say that removing Weir and adding Carter were two completely separate events. And...well...I don't.

Someone seems to share that opinion on the anti-S10 thread. I honestly think it had more to do with the fact that they didn't know how to write Weir anymore and they had decided to shift the focus on the team rather than the city as a whole. (first huge mistake, imho), but I think they knew all along who they wanted as a replacement. While not their primary concern, the stir the co-command (most.stupid.thing.ever) and Carter's reduced screentime raised among fans might have played a part in the decision process.

Also, I think there were no other candidates to the part. JM said they wouldn't make their names public to protect them. From who? Us? I'm surely not going to start bashing an actor because, had things been different, he/she might have replaced TH. I don't have that much time on my hands.

You answered your own question, we're only SGA fans, we don't matter, just as SGA characters are easily disposable, we're too. I guess if for every fan SG1 they win they lose five of us it doesn't count because a fan of SG1 is worthier than a thousand of us anyway.

That gross (I admitted it in the post, and I'm saying it again here) joke I made about Braingate's comment on leaving Weir's character "wide open".
Point is, I wouldn't have made that comment if the prompt for it hadn't come from him. He's always around here and knows our snarky ways. If someone had the right to call me on that comment, it would be him.

I can't remember who it was, or what I got it for, curiously enough I only remember when someone reds me, if it's a person I respect, must be because those are the ones whose opinion I value. So I'm guessing my first red wasn't from one of those, just someone forgettable.

That, and also that most of the times it's just someone I got on ignore, so I don't see who it was anyway.
