Oh the perfect excuse. How come live ratings hit below the zero? That never happened before, and I don't think it's because of DVR. If people were so darn eager to see the OMGthebestEVA season they would watch it live.

A little lesson about human mentality: When people truly like a show and think it is well written, they watch it live and DVR something else, not watch something else live and DVR the show they used to like.

Sorry for butting in, but I agree. I can see the occasional recording because something came up -- but when you love a show, you make sure to watch it the day it's on.

"Used" being the most important word here.

We all know how things work - 100 episodes means money from syndication. I highly doubt things will change for the better. SGA isn't the same SGA I started to watch and felt excited about every new episode. Character development comes a little bit too late and with my favorite character being written out and turned into "cool" plot device I can't like that show any more. It makes me feel angry more than anything else. And oh yes - bored.

You know what bugs me about this and Janet's death? The writers say, 'Look at the ratings, it was one of the most popular/viewed eps!' Yeah, but that's because fans of the character tune in to see what's happened to them.

DVR is a bonus. In no way it is intended to downgrade the relevance of live ratings. The fact that SGA must take into account DVR just goes to show how awful things are.

The bad think about it is that Radek doesn't strike me as the Guardian type, but other colors don't go well with the scene or David Nykl's eyes

Exactly. It's not a bonus type of thing anymore. It's mandatory to pull the ratings up. I don't see other shows having to do that, even in this day & age of massive DVRing.

McKay would never make it through Jedi Academy (unless he radically changed his attitude). Radek might have made it as a Sentinel
