The Anti Season 4 Thread (Spoilers). For complaints and misgivings ONLY.
Tyler's sentiment was appropriate, even if the way in which it was stated is a bit too blunt.
Treat others like you'd want to be treated.
Do you hate it when you are dismissed as 'oh, just a ...... fan'? or do you hate it when you read snarky posts? or when you see mocking comments?
Do 'thank goodness so and so is gone' sigs annoy you?
You can't control what others do. All you can do is control yourself.
Don't like being dismissed? then don't dismiss others. Don't like 'i hate so and so' sigs? well then don't make one yourself.
Yes, it does not seem fair. And yes, there will always be some that just won't get a clue. There will always be some that cling to being petty and nasty.
just as there will always be some that see the slightest phrase as a gross insult and the end of the world.
That's just how it is when humans interact.
All we can do is enforce the rules. I can't make someone be polite. I can't make someone be sensitive. I can't make someone keep things in perspective.
so please guys, let's get this thread back on track.
If there's one thing you can change about s4, what would you change???
My only complaint is the lack of Weir this season. I do love Carter, but I also loved Weir around. So it's tough for me. I see SGA getting more seasons(aka higher ratings) as an opportunity for lost characters to return.

Hear Hear I am for them to come back I am preparing myself for the worst and hoping for the best for Weir I just hope they don't kill her or worse do what they did to Ford left in limbo

I feel Weir is too developed and strong of a character to be given the Ford treatment. I really hope that does not happen. Let her return back to Earth without being affected by nanites. Let her reprise a sorta recurring role. Like Jacob Carter on SG-1!

but honestly, pick an epsiode, any episode. What in it did you not like and what would you do to change it? How would you rewrite a scene or episode?
for example, for me, in Missing, Keller would have lost the 'fraidy cat' a bit sooner than she did. or not been AS spooked. While i enjoyed elements of the episode itself, i was ready to whack keller upside the head by the end of act two.
My biggest complaint about season 4 is the fact that we don't have wier or beckett. They were both staple characters and each had the opportunity for major story arcs: Beckett with Micheal and Weir with Oberon.
By getting rid of both characters the writers have lost something that was unique to Atlantis. The needed to keep one of them...beckett or weir--I would rather they kept both and rebalanced sheps "team."
It seems to me that the writers have tried to force feed us fans moments of bonding between Teyla, ronin and Shep. Let's face it--the "team" was ignored for 3 years and during that 3 years was when we should have gotten the bonding eps.
One of my favorite "team" moments was in season 3 when Jack was taken prisoner by replicators and Wier, Shep, Beckett and McKay took the shuttle and went to rescue him. That was a "team" moment and proved to me that they really didn't even need Teyla and Ronin in the show.
Now, in general, there is less silliness and more solid arcs but in the trade off TPTB lost the heart of the show. I can just imagine how much better the show would be if they left Carson and Wier--reduced ronin and teyla to reoccurring characters and put wier on SGA-1 along with carson.
I do like having Sam there and I wish they had wrote her the way Sam should be--a strong leader and not a fish out of water. She holds the rank of colonel--even as a scientist she should be able to come across as a strong leader and not someone afraid of stepping on toes. My only complaint with Sam!
I do feel that the "team" moments are forced and the only real "team" they have left now is McKay and Shep.
One thing I did like about SGA was it was based in Atlantis. I was hoping for more discoveries about the city and less big, bad new enemies.
[mod snip - please bear in mind th ethread title] If I were to complain, I would like to see some of those classic SG-1 Mckay and Carter moments. I loved eps like "48 hours" and "Redemption".
