The Anti Season 4 Thread (Spoilers). For complaints and misgivings ONLY.

I guess this is sort of, kind of an anti post. Maybe. Anyway, I think that Stargate in general is at it's best when it's simply a small team going through the gate with their P-90s and not much else. I don't like the idea of ALL the Asgard tech and ALL the Atlantis tech available for our use- whenever we can back-engineer it or understand it. I'd like to see the beautiful city of Atlantis damaged severely, with much of the tech lost, and no way for us to ever repair it. I think Stargate is moving too close to Star Trek (I love Star Trek but..), where humans are technologically dominant with little conflict and happiness everywhere. I'd like to see more of OUR tech as it is today. It should be much more of a struggle for us to become The Fifth Race. I think too often the answer to a particlar Atlantis episode becomes McKay figuring out some Atlantis tech to save us all. Ah, not really anti Season 4 but more anti general direction of the Stargate franchise.Ok, I'm done rambling!

Welcome. I agree with all that. A bunch of us were saying we'd like to see them stay cut off from Earth even before S4.

I wouldn't worry about that. If S5 stinks as much as S4 (and there is every indication that it will), It will be no problem for us to drive the pro people out of the general threads and turn them into anti threads

Just read the Sy Fy Portal article and it just sums up what I've been saying all season.

The real Sam Carter never made it to Atlantis. This Carter is just Weir in Carter's clothing, and though the article doesn't mention Keller, I can't stand her, especially after "Missing".

Hi, parisindy. Actually, I'm a Montreal Aluettes fan- I just threw in the British Columbia Lions thing because that's where TPTB work their magic. I'm happy Saskatchewan won the Grey Cup, though (Go RoughRiders). Regina supports that team no matter what- love that! My favorite character is Daniel. My fav on Atlantis is.. well, I like Mensa-Shep, Happy-McKay, Funny-Ronan, and Zelenka and Lorne whenever they're onscreen. I like Beckett, Non-Wraith-enzymed Ford and Non-Replicator-Weir. And Teyla, when given actual dialog. Not that I'm picky or anything!

Why did we make the decision to get rid of the dedicated pro and anti threads??? what's happened in this thread in the past few hours is a prime example. folks are not content to 'peacefully co-exist'. instead tehy have to 'win' over others. they harrass and belittle. the mock and scorn. the persecute 'the other side'

That's what I'll probably be doing. I haven't been happy with what I've read in the last few days, and I'm honestly tired of having to explain myself every time someone decides it's time to give me the same lecture or ask me 'why'.

If this was a cold war there wouldn't be such problems. This is a full fledged conflict. More subtly fought by someone more than others, but still a conflict.

Also, I'm not watching the show anymore, but I like to hang out here with people whose ideas about what's wrong with the show and where it should have gone instead are pretty much similar to mine.

I'm honestly not interested in discussing the episodes in general threads. For the simple fact that I have no intention of watching them.

Am I missing a whole chunk of something here, but when the did civil war break out? All I've seen for the past couple of days is people having fun with a few off topic posts. Like many of the others here I don't watch the show anymore so I just come here to hang out with the friends I've made here, yes people b!tch about the way the series is going but that's the point, I haven't seen any trolling, or out and out warfare starting, so why have the mods suddenly come jackbooting in telling us that if we don't play nice the threads are going to be locked and we're all going to be banned? If that's going to happen would someone point me to the bits I've been missing as I'd like to know what I'm going to be banned for, because at this particular moment in time, I can't see a problem.

Stargate: Atlantis: The SciFi Channel already renewed this for a fifth season, so it's very likely we'll see more when this season is over. I don't say it with 100 percent certainty, because this is the SciFi Channel. Fans of "Farscape" know what I'm talking about.

The big thing happening with "Atlantis" this season was the addition of Amanda Tapping's character, Sam Carter. However, it seems the producers forgot to tell the writers about the change. Tapping's character is being written exactly like Tori Higginson's Elizabeth Weir. Where are the conflicts in command between Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) and Carter? Where are the scientific debates between McKay (David Hewlett) and Carter? Nowhere, that's where.

This season is the same old thing as the previous year. And it's boring. I had hoped for so much more this season, and "Atlantis" has yet to deliver. The show may be getting a fifth season, but I don't know if it deserves it.

I will be sending my love to him, especially since he seems to have the same viewpoint regarding Smallville too..
