Wow, I never realized Kate was so popular! Although now I remember how I came across a lot of *ahem* interesting fics with her on wraithbait...

Wonder if she'll be in season 4. Although given the trend TPTB are showing, I'd be worried. I love recurring characters like her and Zelenka, and it would be such a shame for them to be sacrificed too.

Btw- which way do you prefer Kate: blonde/brunette?

How do you support two pairings, Falcon Horus? I've always wondered. Doesn't one pairing necessarily conflict with the other? With me, it's all or nothing. I tried shipping C/7 on Voyager, but I gave up, because I was too into J/C. Which sucked for me. *rolls eyes* Why do I always go for the doomed relationships?!

I don't hate it. It's an awesome episode, if you blink out the few appearances by miss Mary-sue, which I did pretty okay.

I think I have to say that I don't know how to see it in the grand scheme of things.

One thing though... There are plenty of Elizabeth/Teyla squee-moments. If that was my OTP I'd be writing like crazy, which I will cause... awe...

This episode had me all teary-eyed, hasn't happened since Carson's memorial service. (and Carter's presence just frakked it all up, Bill was funny though)

I am going to be big about this. I won't complain about the lack of Sh/Weir moments. Even though it is totally my OTP. [hehe, use of new word *glee*] I guess the T/E friendship fans/shippers should get a few scenes before it's too late. And the Weir/Ronon shippers because they have so few scenes together where he isn't a jerk to her or when they actually speak to each other.

But you know, I think if they were going to indulge the other ships, they could have at least had ONE good scene with Shep and Weir, no? The only remotely shippy thing is that she called him first, before acknowledging the others. Which is significant because he and McKay entered at the same time, so she would have seen them both appear together and in her state of confusion and distress, she addressed him first. But that is waaay stretching it.

I'm not sure she's that popular. I have a hard time finding fics in which she has a major part to play. And some of them are my own.
And I think I can count the Kate-fans on one hand and still have fingers left.

I'd love to see her again. She is my favorite character but I wouldn't be too saddened if she didn't appear again. I must say though that I had given up hope in season 3 and then she was in Echoes which had me all ecstatic.

If she does appear in season 4, it'll probably be only one episode again and I'll be pleasantly surprised. If she's not... oh well, so be it. As long as they don't kill her cause that would completely do it for me...no more Atlantis.

Mmmm... I don't know, doesn't really matter...though I think I like redhead a little better than blond.

Nope, don't have a problem with it. Kate/Teyla is what I like to write the best and what I think looks the best and cutest. But I have no problem with writing Elizabeth/Teyla (which I do in my fic from hell where I pair Kate with someone else). And I read pretty much every pairing that has Kate in any capacity. As I said there aren't that many fics where she plays a major part so I pretty much read anything. And on the femslash-side, there isn't enough of that so there isn't another choice but to keep an open mind to other pairings, even if they clash with my own.
For the record and on that note... I think Kate/John is another incredibly cute pairing.

The most recent mention on the topic from Joe Mallozzi was on April 16 where he said there was "a good chance" that we will see Dr Heightmeyer again in Season 4.

I'd say Pileggi is a bigger name than Tapping. He's been around longer, he's been in a much more successful show in The X Files, since it actually cracked mainstream audiences.

I agree. Pileggi is great, and if anyone had to succeed Dr. Weir as leader of Atlantis (in a temporary capacity, of course ), that would be Mr. Skinner.

ITA. I doubt anyone outside of Stargate has any idea of who she is. I certainly didn't know. Even RDA is better known for McGyver and General Hospital than he is for SG1 (as least by mainstream audiences). Even Saturday Night Live has a skit featuring a shaggy haired "McGrubber" which they throw out every once in a while. LOL.

What would people have thought if Daniel had been brought in as head of Atlantis? I mean, he was originally considered the most likely candidate before O'Neill was all 'no, I'd miss you too much, don't leave me!' Would you guys have as big a problem with him over Weir?

Brave person you are, to read JM's blog. I get so irritated, it gets my blood pressure up. Something he was smarming about how 'Weir is so fragile and delicate she couldn't even handle an explosion'. Ugh. He doesn't get to write her that way/ be part of the team that decided it was a good idea to do that and then make fun of her for their lame decision.
