Indeed my dear. And @Reefgirl - I think I can agree with you on 'it's time to put Atlantis out of the misery'. I don't think that even the Carter allmighty can save it (actually I find her boring to no end, but let's not fight over our character preferences. i think it's pretty clear whom I prefer). John and Rodney show is overdone. Totally.

Well, I thought SGA was turning into the "Rodney and John Show" on the back half of S1! I only stayed with the show for Beckett and Weir.

But Rodney and Ronon or Shep and Ronon can be good combinations; I don't know, I kinda like Ronon - he manages to tone those two down a bit.
I enjoyed every Weir moment thoroughly, especially those in 'No Man's Land' and what she did in Siege. Actually I could count a LOT more, for she is my favorite character in SGA. I so won't be tuning in for a show that's going to be without her.I'm not weird, I'm limited edition.

I'd say to this: tptb should have written her better, but I don't agree on this point completely. She compromises a lot, and I don't see that as a weakness. The only example of Sheppard 'walking over her' was in Hot Zone. She is a civilian and gets them to respect her, and Carter is military so Sheppard has to obey her because she outranks him, but doesn't have to respect her at all, while I think he does Respect Elizabeth. But feel free to disagree with me, as long as we don't start fighting over this. I respect your oppinion but don't agree.

I think you're right, both Weir and Teyla are very badly written, it just seems as if Weir's perminantly capitulating to either John or Rodney, if TPTB didn't want to write female characters why have them at all? Actually Carter and Sheppard are equal ranks, they're both Lt Colonel's or at least they were. Do they have female writers on the staff, or is that a stoopid question?

TORCHWOOD!!! IANTO!!! JACK!!!
Okay, back to Atlantis...
I hate to say it but I agree with the John & Rodney show. That's why I don't like episodes such as The Game. One of the episodes that was nothing but McKay/Sheppard. I really hate it when they get all the screentime to have fun and have fangirls/boys faint for them (no offence to fangirls, I am one too) just like they are trying to have the fanboys/girls faint for Keller (yeah, I hate to admit that they didn't just bring her in for her talent).
I sincerely can't agree that Carter will have to come in and save the show. Trust me, one character alone can't do that. You need good writers, strong characters and a hell of a lot of luck that Nielsen-box-people will watch your show. And for now, I have to say, Atlantis lacks at least 1 of those 3 things, and it looks like it could be 2 if they keep killing off/making their characters disappear like they are currently doing.Heightmeyer's Lemming -- still the coolest Lemming of the forum
Proper Stargate Rewatch -- season 10 of SG-1

As for the woman writers, unfortunately they don't have any on staff. My favorite episode, "Poisoning the Well" was a story written by a woman (Mary Kaiser)--of course, I'm biased because this was the penultimate Beckett episode.
