The Anti Season 4 Thread (Spoilers). For complaints and misgivings ONLY.
You mean to say, it was the worst ever cliffhanger in the history of cliffhangers. I hadn't even a sense of danger for one moment... Sheppard, McKay, Lorne and Ronon will be alive and kicking. I imagine the red shirts won't be. Lorne will have assemble a whole new team when we start back in season 5.
Well, I'm not sure if it was the worst in the history of cliffhangers...there might be one that was worse...maybe...even though nothing's coming to mind at the moment. I had some mild apprehension about Lorne, since TPTB seem to enjoy killing characters now and he's well-liked, but not one of the leads.
Why do you guys think they ended the season the way they did, with just trapping a few characters in a bad-cgi collapsed building? All the other seasons they left Atlantis or Earth in danger. It didn't seem to be much of a cliffhanger to me at all.
Collapse of the building was overkill. It would've been more amusing had the Stargate been destroyed leaving them all stranded on a deserted planet.
As for the other thing, the entire galaxy is in danger. Although I would've prefered it when Sheppard had been stuck in the future for the time being, trying to move Atlantis from the planet after he missed his chance to return to the present due to a collapsing hallway or an attack.

I'll take some of your cold; I'm used to colder weather than where I'm now living...this weekend is the first I had to turn on my AC and I'm whiney like Keller about the approaching heat.

Perhaps it's becuase the cliff hanger was anti-climatic. They whole ep had issues. The synopsis was about Shep going into the future and being the last MAN in Pegasus.
What we got was shep going into the future and finding hologram Rodney who had to tell him how everything went bad after he disappeared. Then we got very little climax as far as sending sheppard back. Sheppard comes back...sooner than I had anticipated, leads them to the warehouse and viola...it's a trap.
The ep took sheppard too far into the future, gave little resistance in sending him home, gave how everyone heroically died after shep vanish, except rodney.
Had absolutely nothing to do with Teyla or the baby...which is what lead to the down fall.
Was basically about how Rodney lost everyone and ended up all alone. Blahh...*puke*
The collapsing building was a shoe in the moment Rodney hooked up the computer to Micheal's equipment. Predictable, predictable...blah!
And I would gander the season opener will be...shep, rodney, lorne dig out of rubble after Rodney has another heart felt moment.
teyla will still be missing. Sam will go home to earth.
After fruitless leads shep comes back to SGA and finds...wooley boy in charge and has a fit!
I have anti-feelings towards my College... They take 111 € just so I can have my degree conferred. You'd kinda think that something like that would be in the about seven grand you paid at the beginning of the year, since you do not really have a choice whether you want to be conferred or not! And that is not only if you go to the ceremony, it is also when you get conferred in absentia. And it doesn't include the gown hire and stuff. Grrrrrr!
Sparky Shipper. Genetically predisposed to being stubborn... really pesky.

I concur. A better setup would've been something like this:
Sheppard's in the future, lets say 50 ~ 100 years, and arrives in a nearly destroyed (And because of that completely altered into a hybrid of human and Ancient tech) Atlantis, it being one of the the last outposts of humanity as the other humans have either been killed by the wraith or Michael or have been evacuated to Earth, and helps defend it against Michael's cronies.
After the battle's over Sheppard is met by an old Rodney (or Rodney's niece) and is told what has happened. We also learn why Atlantis hasn't been brought to the Milky Way: Michael damaged it badly and the IOA found it more important to bring the undamaged Sister City back home and thus decided to copy the Atlantis database to the Sister City and use Atlantis as a decoy so the Sister City could escape Pegasus.
They try to send Sheppard back to the present time to prevent this future from taking place but the shield is draining too much power and they need to move Atlantis to a new planet, but they can spare just enough power to send a message to the past using Rodney's compression algorithm (First seen in S1's letters from Pegasus). So Sheppard's stuck in the future for the time being.
Cut to present day Atlantis: A note arrives through the Stargate, ala 2010, but unlike in 2010 this note doesn't prevent the future, it actually causes it to happen.
As Team Atlantis rushes to the planet where Teyla's being held, they discover they're too early but by arriving too early they caused Michael to prematurely start his campaign for domination causing, as I stated earlier, the future they were trying to prevent.
The episode ends with a 24 style splitscreen with Teyla being held on a ship, ready to deliver with Michael watching over her on one. Sheppard being trapped in the future and preparing to fight with the chair. Atlantis detecting Michael's fleet approaching while Team Atlantis is stranded on Michael's planet as the gate dissappears (In the background Michael's ship can be seen flying away from the planet).
