The current showrunners should take notes, don't you think?

I like more than whump in my stories. *hides from the whumpers* I had lots of questions about things that didn't get answered in that ep.
TLM
Spoiler:I'm not fond of storytelling and find it hard to like an ep that is done in that way. I wanted to know what happened after Shep disappeared, what were the reactions of the team, what did they do? When did they go their seperate ways, in what way did Ronon find it difficult. How did McKay suddenly have a grown up relationship in a three week timescale. What was it that Woolsey did that turned the team away? What about beckett? Why was there not much more of a reaction when Shep came back from the future. I had different visions, and thought it was going to be like 'It's a wonderful life' and that sort of story telling, the differences, what happened and how their lives changed with shep sort of looking on and seeing things around him different and not knowing who he was etc... so maybe it was my expectations, but yeah, i'm fond of the why stuff. And my imagination can only take me so far. So while I loved the premise of the story and the whump, it didn't turn out as I expected.
I like playing in different threads and like to be challenged about my views, so if anyone does fancy taking a wander into the outside world, i'll meet you there. I'll try not to be an ass.
Your concerns about TLM completely mirror mine.Spoiler:Plus I thought the narration was excessive and removed any emotional pull it might have had. The only one I cared about was Shep and we got altogether too little reaction from him.
Anyway, moving on. I'm one of those slightly anti people who has a home here. Sometimes I stray and come back to be welcomed like the prodigal with open arms and sometimes cake. The people here are nice unless you provoke them which I know you would never do. Some of them have dislikes that are the opposite of what yours and mine would be but we respect each other's opinion. Or ignore each other, whichever works.

A good night was had by all then?

Reading your reply to mine, made me realize I wrote a mistake in there... I meant to say it wasn't exactly a fairytale.
*facepalm*
I vote on the latter.
That looks awesome.
There's an anti-season 3 thread. I has 388 posts. Don't know about season 1 or 2. Will do a search... And I found an anti-season 2 thread which has only 17 posts.

Because the weather sucks, 5 mins sunshine, 10 mins snow, 5 mins hail and stupid rain with annoying winds, I will start Babylon 5. Will it be better than the X-Files? Heee heee heee, nothing is better than the X-Files
.
Regarding the other anti SGA threads, people did not complain because they had no reason too. SG1 people decided to watch it because SG1 was not renewed, they made a mockery out of SAM, of course we are going to take our swords out

I played in the anti-s3 thread. There was plenty wrong with that season too, especially those awful "Irr" eps.
I think that TPTB suffer from "Everyone has to be AWESOME!!" syndrome and that's the main reason why Keller doesn't work in her position. Her age and lack of experience would never allow her to become the CMO of a major military base. She would have been better suited as someone slightly lower in the chain of command. But no, TPTB had to stick her in the top spot because everyone is AWESOME!
Look:
-Shep is MENSA level smart, can pilot anything, and women throw themselves at him.
-McKay is scary smart in a wider variety of fields than feasible.
-Weir is a top-notch diplomat and took charge of the SGC for a time.
-Teyla is the leader of her people and has the SUPER SPECIAL wraith DNA.
-Ronon is an incredible fighter and shooter (I noticed that he shot more of the baddies in TLM than anyone on the team).
-Carson was not only the CMO but also a surgeon and a skilled geneticist/molecular biologist.
-Keller is the new CMO and neurosurgeon who apparently excelled at a very young age.
-Carter is scary smart and a very capable fighter/pilot.
-Zelenka is also scary smart.
Who is even slightly normal in comparison? Secondary or tertiary characters only. Lorne and Chuck are kinda normal. Ford, but he's gone. Grodin is also gone. Kate seemed pretty normal but she's gone. Katie was normal, also gone.
I think TPTB should try to make new people more normal instead of shoving them into high-level positions where they don't seem to belong.

Star Trek also uses this theory - many senior officers were experts at everything => even Troi knew how to pilot a starship (not well though, she crashed twice). In fact it is not something specific to sci-fi, just more noticeable theresigpic
