Despite later efforts to ridicule Zelenka, at this point Radek is just as qualified as McKay.

Exactly how I feel! Poor Zelenka puts up with a LOT from McKay and still manages to keep everything running smoothly while McKay is getting into trouble offworld. You know everyone goes to Zelenka when they need something, not McKay! I figure he just doesn't want the responsibility of being the one in charge.
