Why didn’t the councillors listen to Doctor Weir, honestly she was explain how their home was destroyed they didn’t show any compassion what so ever besides Janus. I no its wrong to mess with time but it was already done there was nothing they can do so they should of all took precaution or Leave Zedpms behind so when the expedition team come from earth they can use the it to power up Atlantis and Rodney will then find out to emerge Atlantis and still have enough power.
Janus should have backed up all his work onto the Ancient Database, we all no he didn’t because if he was caught they would have taken action. Unless Janus left a copy in his own personal Laboratory in Atlantis or somewhere in the Pegasus Galaxy.
And for the six gate address contains Zedpms We already know that one is M7G677 which is the kids and the other is the brotherhood but that’s just 2/6, Why didn’t they continue searching.

You know I have to wonder if we will see Janus again one day... After all he was around to see SG1 save the day at um Maybourne's planet, maybe he'll pop in some day to warn us of an impending doom... Hell! Maybe he told Merlin about the Ori threat, thus getting him to build the anti-ascended being weapon. Hmmmm...~Draco Astreus

Magnificent episode, the best of season 1 in my eyes... it is a kind of "Fifth Race" of SGAthe scenario is extremely good, things are not happening in the best manner at the first time (Atlantis shrink
), the Old Weir is very well played by Torri (magnificent in white cloth when meeting the ancients), his story is very emotionnal...
and we see the ancients! very emotionnal moment too, and Janus: a very well found link with the God of the Latium, the time travel!
I really liked the relation between Weir and Janus and his willing to convince Moros to help Weir...
Enormous episode without space battle (though we see a confrontation with a dart) or fighting, but sometimes it is not needed!Hallowed is RepliCarter!
Hallowed are the Ori...

I loved this episode and would say it is the best of season one. I always love to see alternate timelines when they take different paths or some different disaster happens.
It was sad to see Old Weir snuff it in the end, however the SGA team managed to get some ZPM's out of it so that's good, lol. I liked the whole idea of the ancients screwing up again by leaving Atlantis to get swallowed up by the sea after they left - idiots.
Janus was a nice character, it was he who started the experiments with time travel then, that explains a few things in SG-1: 'Window of Opportunity', 'It's Good to be King', 'Moebius' etc.
I wonder if the name 'Janus' was a reference to the LOK character, Janus Audren.I write articles/features/reviews for I'm With Geek.com now. Check out our stuff if you get a minute!

Originally posted by CatsitterHmmm, do you mean, "The SGA team managed to get a list of gate addresses where they might be able to get ZPM's"? And I thought the ancients had submerged the city on purpose to hide it from the Wraith? Or do you mean it was eventually swallowed up by the sea when the shields failed? Well, they couldn't have expected the shields to hold forever, could they, so I'm not sure that would count as screwing up.Somehow I think Dr. Weir would have cease to exist both of them
occuppied the same time zone!!!
There should have been another character that went back in time
and was declared missing-in-action. Then found in the stasis
field and told of his or her story. That away two people would not
have existed at the same time.
Just a thought.George Jr.

Umm, I didn't read though all 17 pages, so, I'm not sure if anyone asked this or not.. But, I was just wondering why they only went after one of the addresses that 10,000 y.o. Dr. Weir left.. The Brotherhood of 15 is the only one they went after, correct? If I recall correctly, they never went after the other 4.. Any insight?Last edited by Austinfan316; 14 February 2007, 05:50 AM. One of the gate adresses was the kids planet in "childhoods end" and in one of the last epesodes in series 1 ("the siege" or "the gift" don't remember which) Wier said that the other three were dead planets.sigpicBeckett: What shall ah say?
Ford: Uh...Uh... I miss you... I wish you were here?
Beckett: I wish who was here?
Ford: Uh.... I dunno who do you wish was here?
Beckett: Nobody I wish I wasn't bloody here.

I thought this eposide was pretty cool to see another version of the expetion team of atlantis. And, retelling something that's different from the way the old wier has discribed it. So, it I give it more than a A+++++++ for the storyline and I couldnt belive that Dr. Wier (Old) actually met the acidents.
