Radek Zelenka/David Nykl Appreciation, Thunk, Translation Thread

I know I'm not a terribly regular visitor, but you guys have generally been so kind to me on the Zelenka/Nykl Appreciation thread I hoped I might ask some fellow thunkers' advice.

My thunking may have got me in trouble. You see, one of the things I do as a hobby is make tarot cards, and I've made a personal deck with actors that included DN as one of them. To show some of my friends and relatives my design skills, I put an album up on Facebook with some of the pictures in it. The DN card got pretty fangirly (I have quotes on all my cards), so I wrote down a comment, "Yes, I know he's married, and so on, and in some far-off universe I'd totally keep him, but in reality, I'd settle for a smile and a hug." Imagine my horror when said comment showed up here http://www.facebook.com/pages/David-Nykl just because I'd typed out his name. It seemed to me the entire bloody fanbase could see it.

I am so embarrassed. I deleted the whole album of photos, but what do I do? I sure don't want to come off as some kind of psycho.

For some reason I couldn't see the link but I really don't think you have alot to worry about. There are alot of fans out there who have done stuff with photos and other wall items of celeb's on their pages and nothing really has happened to them. I don't think you're going to be taken as a psycho, so you don't need to worry

But again, for some reason I can't see the comment. I don't really think tarot cards and quotes about wanting to hug someone will get you into any trouble. It's not like you're saying you plan on getting rid of his wife, etc. I wouldn't worry about anything. I'm sure you're okay. But here is a hug for you *huggles*

I also can't get into the link, it says page not found but I am assuming this was a link to David's fanpage on facebook.

You must not have had it up long. I check out his fan facebook about once a week and I don't recall seeing it. Yeah, you do have to be careful with that stuff if you hit the 'Like' button on facebook.

I understand how easy it is to get embarassed when you post stuff I am sure that David would understand that. You took it down so I would try not to worry too much about it.

The entire fanbase wouldn't have seen it as David's fanpage on Facebook up until recently only had about 600 fans. (not sure if that helps or not, just trying to make you smile.)

I think most of us as fans have had a few gaffs here and there so join the crowd!

Plus a psycho would have left the pictures up hoping that David, his wife or someone else close to him would have noticed.

Keep them on your facebook for your friends to see, just be sure not to type names in on the heading. You can add it to the comments after you post on your own facebook, that's probably the safest!

The thing that really made me worry was the fact that it was my gallery, posted on my profile, to my own facebook, nowhere else. If anything, I kind of felt like my privacy was invaded.

I'm a little bit of a naturally nervous person, so I may be blowing it out of proportion. But thanks, Rose and Mysterywriter, for putting my mind at ease on this one. *hugs back* People in this fandom are all so kind.

And, as thanks, have you guys seen this? David is full of awesome.

'Liking' the fanpage is the same thing as joining it. It's not a personal facebook page where you have to be approved.

That's weird that it was in the comments and it made it to his page, like I said, I don't recall seeing it but then again I only check it out about once a week. Facebook does do some weird things sometimes.

We are, indeed. He seems so naturally animated, and you can tell he enjoys himself at cons. I've heard stories about actors contracted into cons who really didn't want to be there. (Luckily, I've never encountered any.) It's really something special when the guests and the fans have a good time. It always seems to be something new with him, whether it be juggling, flips, or Joe Flanigan impersonations.
He had "fencing" on his resume, I think. That's what I'd like to see.

Of course, it would be even better if he had a film or TV series to swordfight in.

He's also got tap dancing and ball room dance on his resume. All three make a nice combo that would be great for a shot at Dancing With The Stars!

Hi all! Sorry, I joined this party late. It has been a busy day. First of all, JulieDoc, welcome to the club! I know I've done stuff like that (in a personal email to David no less ), and I've heard a couple of private stories from other people (which I won't repeat). You are not the first, nor will you be the last. And, like MW012 said, it doesn't sound like you accidentally made any threats to him or his family. Good grief, there's a YouTube video of David high fiving and shaking hands through the crowd at a con when a woman nervously told him that she loved him and hugged him. Hey, when you're a really hot actor, like David, I'm sure you get a lot of wishes for hugs and kisses on the cheek. Hugs all around! *hugs everyone who wants one*
