But I have a question for you....is it only me, or it´s really there - the attitude that everyone dislikes Radek (from SGA). Ive been thinking about this since...actually I dont remember what ep. it was but i think the dialouge was between McKay and Carter about Radek - Carter saying she didnt say she didnt like him and then McKay says something like " ah its okay, everyone hates him anyway". Am I making this up or this really was in an ep.? And why they said it? I mean, when he showed his pidgeons in quarantine, that was so cute....

I don't remember anything like that in any of the eps. Personally, I think the writers/producers are trying to force something that isn't there. Everybody loves Radek!

You are actually talking about that god awful scene in Trio. Since S4 hasn't shown in syndication yet, you should probably have that in spoiler tags.

It also appears, according to Gero in the S4 DVD's that he said the writers (I think mostly him) were trying to find a spot where they could put a scene in where people didn't like Zelenka. It's just that this scene really didn't work and if you are going to try to make a loveable character into someone that the others don't like (like Mckay was at first) then they really should have done a better job setting that up and tptb didn't.

Here's the transcript to the scene. The transcript actually sounds better. If you put their facial movements and voice tones in it the scene is actually alot worse to watch and to listen to.

McKAY: I’m warning you. I mean, I can go crazy down here. Look, ever since the Jumper thing a couple of years ago, I’ve been very bad with tight spaces.
CARTER: Please, that’s nothing. I was stuck in a transporter with Zelenka for three hours! Now that’s hard.
McKAY: Wait a sec. What are you saying? You don’t like Zelenka?
CARTER: No, I just ... It-it was more claustrophobic than this.
McKAY: Yeah, but that’s not what you said. You emphasised “Zelenka”. You said being stuck with Zelenka for three hours – like that was the hard part.
KELLER: It did kinda sound that way.
CARTER: Look ...
McKAY: You can say you don’t like him. It’s fine! I don’t like him!
KELLER: Oh, he’s certainly a unique guy. (She grimaces briefly at Sam.) He’s always telling me how nice my hair smells – it’s a little weird.
CARTER: He’s a very good person.
McKAY: Oh, sure-sure-sure-sure! He’s the best! You just don’t like him.
CARTER: I did not say that!
McKAY: No, you didn’t have to. I know which one’s your favourite now. (He points to himself.)
CARTER: It’s not a contest!

CARTER (gesturing to the files): Don’t you have some reading to do?

I think tptb are trying to show Zelenka has being a bit odd and that people are uncomfortable with him but it doesn't work that way. They have already setup Zelenka to be a bit different but not that people didn't like him. Especially when Weir was around, she always had alot of respect for Radek and it showed on screen. And then I keep thinking about Tao of Rodney where Rodney was visibly shaken when Radek was dying and then later when Rodney went and talk to Radek afterwards and the really nice words Rodney said to Radek.
The trio scene the way it was played out just didn't work for me...

I would have expected comments from McKay (and we got them) since those two are always in competition with each other. Though I think McKay's overeagar face really shocked me. It's just that Keller's comments didn't really work because the writers had never really set anything up prior to even elude to the hair smelling. I'm begining to think maybe Radek was flirting with Keller. Zelenka was flirting in the Tao of Rodney with the one doctor in the begining of the show. If he was commenting on Keller's hair, maybe it was his way of flirting. Who knows!
