It's got to be the right sort of Slash, I won't read any old fic, it has to be good, some of the best stories don't involve sex at all
I agree. To me it is the actual emotions the characters are feeling towards each other or the situation is what I like in good stories, sex is just one of many avenues to express those emotions. High adventure is another and sometimes just the sultlties of a friendship/enemyship is what makes the story great!
I think you would like Allestian's Torchwood story.

This is what I like about this thread, we don't take the whole thunking bit too seriously, that's why I left the Lorne thunk thread, the gushing was getting a bit much at times.
That's actually what keeps me coming back to this thread as much as I do. I really like David and how he portray's Zelenka but I don't want to take the thunking seriously. Thunkin is fun playtime and come of the caps we have are just plain hilarious. I don't mind some gushing (god knows I am probably the biggest gusher on this thread) but it's not fun if it is all gushing all the time. I know it may sound weird but too much of the gushing makes me feel like we are treading on the actor's personal territory - whether that makes sense or not I don't know but that is how it feels to me.

I hate to break the illusion here but that's going to be unlikely. Kilts have weights sewn into the bottom to stop that happening and so they hang properly, it's very drafty in the Highlands of Scotland.
*sigh* It was great while it lasted!

I'll tell you who does look good in a kilt, David Tennant.
I would like to see that! I really like David Tennant. His character drove me nuts in Harry Potter because of all the lip smacking so it wasn't until Dr. Who that I really learned to appreciate his acting talents. He is a phenominal actor! Ooops, wrong thread.
Paul McGillion actually looks pretty good in a kilt as well!

I've written a couple of Hurt/Comfort Slashy-if-you-look-through-half-closed-eyes under the cut (not Atlantis I'm afraid

That's exactly what it feels like to me too, people that post time after time after time about their latest look, film, boyfriend/girlfriend, book, TVshow and spend hours and hours serching the internet for pictures, news, soundbytes and so on are taking fandom into obsession and that's not healthy

Keep your eyes on the audience in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEMYYNLbEtw David Tennant plus kilt is in it, all in the name of charity. I've seen a lot of stuff David Tennant has done, not just when he's been the star of the show, some of the smaller roles he's done have been incredible. I'll shut up now
I did understand that omething happened to her when she was saving Owen's life
Spoiler:
She was literally thrown to the floor out of the way of a cave-in...sadly Owen was still alive in Torchwood when I wrote this so the chapter does need editing...anywho...the impact of her hitting the ground hurt her.
And just so the mods don't peep in...
I was just thinking...wasn't Zelenka looking very smexy in Tao of Rodney???

Well, I DO like to hear about the other projects David is working on! With his blog though it is now easier to find out what he is working on, which is nice!
It is easy to take fandom too far if you take it too seriously!
I laugh at myself alot because I have never really thunk a character before, at least not like I do Zelenka and I am having alot of fun with it. Doubt I will do it quite like this again after SGA's run is over.

That was great. It was easy to miss him though, at least the kilt stood out!
It's a shame we don't get to see more of his work here. Actually alot of my favorite actors I don't get to see alot of their work because they aren't from the US. I am sooo not into the Brad Pit and George Clooney fanbase.
Wonder what Zelenka thinks about all this *thunkin*

Yeah I like seeing news about what my favourite actors are doing but I don't spend hours searching for any tiny little thing

Phillip Glenister has been really good in Ashes to Ashes, it seems such a shame they had to replace him and John Simm in the US version of Life on Mars, Toby Stephens is another brilliant actor you don't see much of (He was the bad guy in Die Another Day)

Agree! I'd rather be thunkin anyway!

Okay, now I am going to have to see the movie again so I can place the face with the name. Or I could do an internet search! (just teasing!)
Damn, we are going to get hit with another snowstorm, they figure about 6-inches. Last year at this time we could go outside without coats. Aggghhhh, this unpredictable Minnesota weather.

Oh yeah, who wouldn't want to thunk, My mum fell for Toby Stephens when he was in a little known film called Photographing Fairies, about the Cottingly Fairies case

A little thunkin will make me feel better
Spoiler:
It's actually warmed up a little here and stopped raining, for once
