It's heavy with Sheppard! But Joe is fantastic in it.

Lorne's role was small but was great. He was holding a gun onto Sheppard so you might just like that!
Zelenka was fun to watch. He's not quite the scardycat that he use to be!
At the end of the episode I found myself missing Zelenka at the table scene. Probably wouldn't have missed him so much if Keller hadn't been there. Zelenka has been integal to the team, and has had some fun moments with Sheppard, Ronan and McKay yet he is not made to feel part of the team while Keller, who is in less episodes and new this year they are trying to make part of the team. Probably wouldn't have notice so much if I wasn't such a huge Zelenka fan!

I went to the MGM site last night. Was kind of surprised to see just how hard they were promoting Dr. Keller - she is on the banner at the top and also listed with a character bio. Kind of erked me a bit because Zelenka has been around alot longer - all four seasons, is in more episodes this year then Keller and yet he has never ever gotten the promotion work that Keller has. They are both reoccuring characters, not main characters. Suppose they are trying really hard to help fans accept Keller in the wake of Carson's demise and unless you are a Zelenka fan you probably wouldn't even notice.

At the very least, if Keller had a character bio, then Zelenka and Lorne should too!

TPTBs are desperate (especially Joe Mallozzi). They're trying to find a way to redeem the show after three years of the Rodney and John ranting/whining parade by killing old undeveloped characters and replacing them with new ones, that might get at least a little development and interaction with others. Instead they should kill Sheppard (or at least send him to Fort Leavenworth) and replace him with someone, who at least looks like a soldier

It just bugs me that the recent cast changes keep getting more attention in promotions then the existing characters. It feels like they are trying to force fans to like Keller when the value is in introducing the character and then watching her develop like we got to see with Zelenka and to a lesser extent Lorne. If Zelenka and Lorne don't have a character bio on the MGM website, then why should Keller. All three are secondary characters.

I actually would love to see an episode that focus just on Zelenka, Lorne, Keller and even Chuck.

At the moment SGA seems like it's being written by a bunch of schoolboys and it's showing, yes there was a lot of weeping and wailing what Carson was killed off and Weir was written out, I think the reason they're putting so much effort into promoting Keller is they are trying to justify killing Carson and bringing her in. I know I keep bringing it up but having watched Dr Who and 4400 for the last 6 months, the inadequacies of the writing, character developement, procduction and acting skills has become so glaring in Atlantis. I cried buckets in at least 4 episodes of Dr Who (never even sniffled at 'Sunday') and was scared witless by another one. I can't remember when a TV show has wrung so many different emotions out of me in 13 weeks, 4400 has had me in floods, gripping a cusion and giggling, I was screaming "No, no, no" at the TV when the credits came up on the last episode because I didn't want it to stop, not even the second series of Atlantis, my favourite by far, has managed to affect me as much. TPTB are alianating the fans by their attitude as well, there is too much "Oh well they're only the fans, what do they know" coming from them, if the rumours are true MGM employed people to spam GW and other places to beg, yes beg people to watch the show 'Live' when a company as big as MGM has to stoop to such tactics to get people to watch, the show is in severe trouble. I agree. I think Keller is being promoted so much more to justify the loss of Carson. Something that they shouldn't have to do if they believed that their decision to kill off Carson was a good decision.
It just bugs me that a new secondary character is getting so much more attention and publicity then the other established fantastic secondary characters do. If I wasn't such a huge Zelenka fan, I probably would not even have noticed.

I know I keep bringing it up but having watched Dr Who and 4400 for the last 6 months, the inadequacies of the writing, character developement, procduction and acting skills has become so glaring in Atlantis. I agree that SGA doesn't bring out the emotions the same way but I don't expect it to so maybe that is why I am not as disappointed as other fans. I do agree that character development has been severely lacking and I think my emotions would be heightened more if this had been done in earlier seasons.

I am guessing that alot of TPTB from other shows have similar attitudes about the fans only we don't hear as much from then as we do from the Stargate PTB. The reason I say this is that people are very very protective of their creative ideas and when people get protective they come off as "thinking they are always right," or condencending to those who don't understand their vision, or respect their creative rights. I have seen this behavior over and over again. Hell, my daughter's father was a photographer before his stroke and his attitude about his photography was so similar that I just tuned it out because he wouldn't listen to anything, good or bad, I had to say about his work even when he asked.

David and Kavan may never be short of work but it isn't always easy to see their work. David does alot of theater, don't know about Kavan. When you find an actor or actress that you like watching and David N. is in my top five list, I kindof want to be selfish and get to see more of their work, not less.

I have been lurking on the pros and con threads abit. I just get tired of all the negativity and don't want it clouding my enjoyment of watching SGA. Creativity is in the eyes of the beholder and we all have our ideas of what we want and don't want to see. I can't really change how the writers are going to write SGA, or how the actors are going to portray their characters, nor do I want to. It is their work of art, not mine so I just want to sit back and enjoy what they have to give.
And if they don't want to listen or learn from past mistakes, then ultimately they pay the bigger price in having to find work, while I will go on to find another TV show that I like to watch or find something else more enjoyable to do.

OMG, I have a friend who went to the Utopia convention this weekend in Amsterdam - she actually lives near there and was my roommate in Chicago. She was suppose to get me David's autograph but did one better, she got David to say hi to me and put it in a nice video. I am really having a fangirl moment and feeling totally embarassed, yet very appreciative of the gift she gave me.

I have to get her permission to post it, if I do I will post a link. It is short and cute. I am just feeling so fangirlish at the moment.

I know that you haven't received the e-mail yet - debating whether to give the old or newer version.

Those pics from the con - the whole 'whose line is it?' just reminded me of the final Oliver! audition at college.

The remaining girls were split up into two groups of about...6/7 and we had to sing 'Oom Pah Pah!' then we had to create a dialogue...

Anyway, the group on the stage (Not ours) sang it and as they finished, all of our group stood up and sang it right back at them, sending them some attitude. The heads of drama and music were laughing their heads off.

Anywho, after that they casted and that's old news.
