David's birthday is coming up in February. What kind of fun can we have on this thread getting ready for it?

Voodoo is a movie short David did last year. It's about 12 minutes long and seems to be only shown at film festivals.

I managed to get a copy from a film festival that was selling a DVD with about 12 movie shorts that they showed at the festival. Was a bit pricy and I had major problems with the bank but David was worth it!

It's hard to describe the short without giving too much away.

Basically David's character - Mr. Decker, is in an unhappy marriage. His wife spends her time away doing research and brings home a Voodoo toy. Mr. Decker has the hots for his neighbor next door whose husband is away in the War. There's conflict when Mrs. Decker comes home. It's funny, not scary and you don't know what is going to happen until the very end! (Note, this is in the movie clip so I'm not giving anything away.)

It's really cute and creatively very well done from the choice in filming style, the thirties time era theme, to the actors who are all perfect for their roles. Colm Feore does the narrative and he's got a great storytelling voice.

David's facial expressions are really priceless in this movie. He can really convey a lot with just the way he looks and it works perfect.

I'm going to bring it to the Chicago convention so if anyone is around and wants to see it...I will make it available!

GUH. *moves keyboard outta drool pool* lol Hmm...if David's birthday is next month,maybe we can write short ficlets,picfics,etc. to promote David'd special day. I kinda like writing Radek fic(lets) and have an idea or three I could pursue. *dodges plot bunny* Stupid little blighters just fly outta the woodwork sometimes. Hell,I'll even go back through the threads and find that little Radek story I did awhile ago. More Czech shots please!! Woohoo!! }:O

I would be open for this...definitely something different that his fans haven't done yet for David!

Do we get to design our own card or do we have to choose from their designs?

Hiccups had some really fun motivational posters she made, not sure if any would work for a birthday card but always fun to look at.

Just trying to figure out if there is a way some of us on this thread can contribute to the idea and the card.

This was at a convention in France only a few years ago. Fun video getting to hear David Nykl speaking French! Thanks Melena!

Getting to see these two on stage together is a real treat. I saw them in Toronto together a few years ago and it was one of the best and most enjoyable (and I have had the chance to see alot of fun actors panels) I've seen. You see the natural chemistry between the two David's and understand why these two made Zelenka and McKay work so well on screen together.
