I agree and I think he's confusing how many eps with how long on each show. Jewel had less eps then Rachel, but I still think Rachel had less air time and dialogue.

IIRC, the last time I saw FH's statistics, she was up to the episode before Brain Storm. Teyla had slightly more screentime than Keller but Keller had had a lot more dialogue I doubt the last few eps would have done anythings to change that.

Well, I'll have to disagree in Prodical though.

In the beginning of the ep, she was stressed to get him down and not happy at all, the of course the same with Mike around, but at the end was different. She was glowing, IMO. He helped her defeat Michael. Maybe not by kicking him off the top of the tower, but John found away to stop Michael enough for her to give Torren over to Amelia and for her to hunt Michael down.
Then John calls her Supermom, when she felt doubt. That comment made he go awwww. You can see it in her face. I personally think she was looking at John most of the time towards the end and laughing for finally feeling happy at that moment. Again. IMO.
Then, there's another thing. How did he know that Torren got a full night sleep? He must be keeping tabs on her or something like that.

Yeah you can start to wonder about some things when it comes to John and Torren...

We all heard him say to Teyla if anything would to happen to her,,, there are people that would look out for Torren.. and gosh I can't remember everything he said in Quarantine..but didn't he basically mention himself in that too...

I know he got a little take back with the whole deal of her being pregnant..but you also later on see clearly how protective he is over her.. and we have to see as well how much he did to try and find her.. his determination to get to her,,to find her and bring her to safety... he risked his life numerous times for her but he goes all injured and is not just risking his own life but the life of the others because he could have ended up being a liability to Ronon and Rodney..and to the rescue of Teyla.. yet he did it anyway..even with the notion of Sam could court martial him when he got back... and actually who knows..he seemed in scenes like that one in Prodigal to be rather comfortable with Torren..and like he has spent time with him... so who knows.. there are times I felt like John even acted more of someone closer to Torren and Teyla then Kanaan ever did and he is the boy's father.. yet I sure didn't get that feel..all I felt was like he was the on duty babysitter... hell I didn't even feel a connection between Kanaan and Teyla or even Kanaan and Torren in scenes they were together..given what was it 1 or 2..but hell even in one scene with Torren and John you could almost feel a bond...

I agree and I don't see why it was such a problem for John to be the father...they had been building up their relationship for 3 years but it was too much to accept that they could have taken it to the next step... once Teyla found out she was pregnant she could have gone to Lornes team if she wanted to continue to fight the Wraith.... we couldnt of seen any less of her than we saw in season 5 anyway....

So I just have to roll my eyes when the writers thought it was more plausible to bring some unknown guy out of nowhere and announce that he and Teyla had been secret lovers... is that the Teyla they had shown us over 3 years... why would she go behind her closest friends backs and hide her relationship with Kanaan...why would she lie to John about it and keep her pregnancy from him.. it was all such a shambles.
I think John being a father would have opened up a whole new side to him.... and we could have learned so much more about him and the relationship with his own father... but instead the hero has to have emotional issues and doesnt deserve to end up with anyone... so what happend to the Shep in season one that said he would like to have kids...

Ahh... such wasted potential....thank God for amazing fanfic like Lost ..... it's sad that fanfic writers have much more of a grasp on the characters than the writers of the show..... and can come up with such interesting and creative ideas .... and I don't just mean for John and Teyla...

That story really IS great. Am only at chapter 11 now, but I`m reading it slow ... wanna savior it until it´s finished, LOL.

I don´t think they did. They both mentioned "the way she looked when she talked about him" .. which, again, never really happened unless you count offscreen. Again, how come we are to accept her amazing love life and family starting like that, yet have to witness every single date of another certain pairing

The Eye..no not much in that one..the only thing I remember really is when they get back and get to John...and he gives out orders,,Teyla rather go with him and fight by his side... like she doesn't wanna lose site of him

The Defiant One... no not much there either... just him thanking them for coming and she is telling him they tried to get there as soon as possible.. and him saying he didn't mean it like that..like she was apologizing that they couldn't get to him sooner...

Hot Zone...do you have to ask The sparring scene of course...darn there was spark and fire and what not... and he got where he might have have secretly wanting to be ..when she got him on his knees pressing his head against her chest

Hi Everyone - I just love all this discussion about J/T. I have lots of reading to catch up on, but I'd like to add something to the thought that JM said we'd have more Teyla in S5.
Not only did we hear that, but I remember someone said something was said at the Con in San Diego last summer when the question about J/T was brought up. I don't know who it was but they said that TPTB would be exploring more of the relationship between John & Teyla in S5 - that even tho there was a lot of grey area between them, there was still a deep affection between them. Well as far as I can see-all we got in S5 was exploring their relationship in the wrong direction and inserting the plot device. Instead of getting closer and having them get to know each other better, all we got was more distance than ever between them. The only time they seemed heading in the right direction was in S&R and once the invisible daddy showed up that was the end of anything. I can only hope that they may change things in the movie as enough time may have gone by that no one would feel like Teyla just dumped Kanaan after he was rescued from Michael. And John - I hope they make him stop dreaming/hallucinating about Teyla and make him actually admit something to himself when he is not under some outside interference (i.e. alien, injury etc) Just my dreams!

Oh, ok. I looked on IMDB and it showed which shows that she was only credited with. JS didn't get any "credited" eps because she wasn't on the opening credits.

And I totally agree with you about RL gettting less dialogue.

Oh and I updated my fic to LJ.

Dealing with Grief

I forgot the exact wording in Quarantine, but I'm sure he would be including himself. Especially, if something happened to both her and her people. I have no doubt how much he would be helping.

I don't care what anyone says. I know in S&R where John is holding Torren that maybe JF's personallity came threw when he smiles a was admiring the baby, but if they(writers/actors) didn't want John to show how comfortable he was with the baby, all by himself, you'd think they would've show it then and there. (Does that make sense?)

(in case your wondering, I've been kinda lurking in the shadows following this thread- only jumping into the discussion when I have something to say)

This whole S5 Re-write sound awesome! [despite the fact I barely know half of the season- I've seen the first 4 episodes on DVD, but I know about the Prodigal & a few latter episodes- which reminds me, if ANYONE can help me find the remaining episodes that'll be great. I need to find a Trial version of a Converter that'll let me convert the files to mp4 but not limited to just 3 min! I need them in mp4 cos Itunes is the only current way to burn discs. Although I'm about 2 mm off jujst finding another way of burning DVDs on the computer!]

Anyway, back to the Re-write!
I was wondering (& I'm guessing we just say 'dibs' on a certain episode???) if anyone's bags S&R. I just remembered about this half-ass fic I started writing, but then got stuck on so abandoned it- but I've realised part of S&R really ties into it all, & well, I wanna have a go with it again! [maybe not the ENTIRE episode, but at least like a Missing Scene kinda thing].
Is that ok with everyone?

But in little ways we did see some things, but it wasn't right in front like I would like it to be.
Like:
S&R:
There is no doubt what we saw in S&R, especially in John's mind about how he feels for her.
BT:
She was still torn with what to do. John was hurt that she was still undecided and she was hurt when she felt left behind. I'm wondering if his reaction at the end was him pretending that it didn't matter either way.
DV:
She was right there most of the way and he was impressed with what she's been learning. Plus, she couldn't wait to get back to help him and Ronon when they were in trouble. Ok, Not so shippy.
The Queen:
What can I say. He was worried and hated the whole thing about her doing this. And at risk of showing the jumper to target the other Wraith ship, you know he did it to protect the ship she was on.
First Contact: Them working side by side, him shielding her the explosion and his plead to have her leave the control room. *sigh*
TLT: Her concern for John, not John and Radek, just John. And she was the first one that heard and found him.
Outsiders: Not much, but that cry for her when he thought that dart was gonna get her. *speechless*
Prodical: Her saving her man!!!

I think that's good.
