I love Christmas. But our family, a long time ago, took the emphasis off presents. The gift giving is really at a minimum with us. We have dinners, bake, decorate, do crafts and attend church together. We try to stick with all the family traditions of the holiday. It made it so much more stress free and enjoyable. As long as everyone is getting along at that time. LOL! Usually nothing too serious, but you know how families are...We usually just separate them at the big dining room table! LOL!

We don't get the big crowds in the little town that I live in either...but go about 70 miles to the north, to the capital city where all the malls are....Ugh I'll probably venture out to them at least once in the upcoming month. But I get in and out early.

Black Friday and the day after Christmas, must be the worst.



Yep, this day has been growing in popularity for a while. And with the economy in the proverbial toilet....people are eager to get good deals.
And they really do have some fabulous, amazing deals out there on this day. Sometimes over 60% and 70% off. But I still won't brave those crowds. Most of these deals you can pick up online anymore.



On the NY Times website, a lot of people just used the tragedy as an opportunity to go on a racist rant.
My heart goes out to that man and his family. What a way to die.

Yeah I was shocked by certain commets but it's true perhaps a wa to irate people in anonymous way but I totally understand we have periods too where things are less expansive but it tends to disminish because it costs a lot even there and with actual economy people are really not at fun even christmas suffer but we're like you it's a time to join particularly with some family (a tiny part) even if we see all the year LOL and it's time for good food (we like that in France)

Oh sorry you feel bad too yeah it's true weather is colder since sometimes i don't know if it's the same everywhere but in here we aren't accustomed and honnestly I freeze I have at least 2 covers and 2 braids (I have a doubt about my translator :confused) polar sockets, winter night dress and even my polar robe (?) LOL
