Guys, I need your help it is regarding a fic for Wedj.

If you had to describe what type of guy John is when it comes to a woman.

How would you describe him?

Something like say...

A lady man…

Clueless…

A flirt…

Or you think John is just a regular guy…with maybe some emotional baggage.

I would love to read your thoughts on this.

Speaking of fics- I 've been on the hunt for j/t stories or just good team stories and I'm not sure where to go. I've found a few scattered across lj and some on ff.net, but you need through wade through some chaff on there. I'm hoping that folks here can point me in the direction of their favorites . I posted on the fanfic section of the forums and so far not a peep guess Sam jack is much more popular! There also seem to be many John Elizabeth stories. !

And Hope I'd go with the regular+ baggage. He does seem a bit tormented.

I was going to suggest the Unique Bond, which was a John and Teyla fansite but it appears to be gone as well as the John Teyla Convergence, which has been gone for a year or two.

I think most of their close friends knew and expected them to get together....Ronon always knew and I think he was as surprised as John when Teyla announced she was pregnant... I felt sorry for Jason having to spout those rediculous lines about Kanaan..

When Jason was asked in an interview about who he thought Sheppard would end up with, he immediatly said Teyla..

Elizabeth always knew as well... her first reaction to Teyla saying she had a child was...
"Is John the father"....

I read some posts by Torri a while back.. she used to post on GW back in the day and when asked what Weir's relationship was with Sheppard.. she said they were great friends but she expected something to "happen" between her and Carson.. because they had so many similiar moral issues to deal with etc..

I think everyone expected John and Teyla to happen, even the writers planned it but things changed after Rachels pregnancy because they felt they just weren't ready for it to happen at that moment.. for some reason, but as I've said before I think they would have gotten back to them in season 6...

I think John was basically a regular guy with emotional baggage... I think he had a lot of insecurity issues and found it difficult to reveal his true feelings. I don't think he was a flirt, he was naturally charming and this was mistaken for flirting. I don't think he was even aware of how his charm affected the ladies..

I think Planet has given you a great list... but when you go to FF. and bring up John/Teyla characters you can also put the rating as "M". Wedjetqi has a lot of amazing fics under M ratings as they contain sexual content, but are some of the best JT fics you'll read. As Planet said there are a lot of JT fics on FF.Net...

I see John as totally clueless when it comes to women, mostly because, lets face it, he is in another galaxy, and in over his head with alien ladies, one of whom (Teyla) already got him with her bait, hook and sinker,... not ot mention did he swallow that fishing pole.. He's Hooked on Teyla

Oh how can I forget DG.... One of my favorites. Did we mention The Queen? ... I think so. Love so many parts in this ep. There's when they are in his quarters and John doesn't want her to go through this, John with his head hanging and looking worried in the infirmary, the constant reassurance that they will be there if she needs them and of course the infirmary scene.

So many great discussions guys.

Hmmmm. This is hard... I'd say a little of all the above. I mean.. we've seen him in Rising... charming and sweet to Teyla when the first met. (Flirt)
We've also seen him flirt with other people and the ladies of course gave him eyes back. (Lady's man)
......and there are more cases where I hate to admit that he is clueless. Like Teer(sp) in Epiphany.. she had to tell him what was up before he got it...*ding* light finally went on... There was Larrin, she tricked him into a kiss so she could stun him... *duh*.... and then there was Teyla.... especially in Doppelganger. She went to him.... she asked for his arms for comfort then again in SoW.... OH!! And how she acted in the infirmary in The Ark.... "HELLO!" (Clueless)
And then of course he has his baggage and after watching Sunday and Outcast.... you kinda understand why he's reluctant about marriage. He's afraid to mess up again... he's afraid of having of not being able to open because of his job.... IMO.
But also IMO, alot of men are that way.
