This is why I love Joe Flanigan so much. He is so much more than a pretty face. He's a genuine and really nice guy who will literaly do anything for his friends. Didn't Rachel say that Joe would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it... so true.

I think that is why so many have formed a connection to Joe because of his endearing qualities. He may not be the warmest guy at times or the chattiest.. until he relaxes and then you can't shut him up.

. as I found out in New Zealand.. but he really does care about our environment, the way we treat our planet and will do everything in his power to help those he cares about.. I'm sure his request will help his friend and her family and my heart goes out to her..

So very true, blue. He truly is a class act. That's what is so great about the SGA actors. They were always so giving and caring. It's also great that JF could just call up his buddy, David Hewlett, and say "Hey buddy will you do this with me?" and Dave was just immediately there for him and his friend. That's the power of that show because of the actors. You could see on screen that the SGA actors really are friends and care about each other and everyone else. Paul did the auction at the last DragonCon to raise money for Lupus, and Rachel and the others have been active in helping others as well.

My heart goes out to Joe Flanigan's friend and her family also.

It's nice that he's such a good person willing to use his celebrity to aid someone that needs it, and where it can be felt and have such a positive impact. Cheers to him.

I was very moved by his letter on Twitter where he makes the plea to his fans. It's wonderful that he's able to do this for someone that clearly needs not just the financial support but the emotional support as well. I posted in Beya his twitter letter and Sarah Geary's site.

She has a letter there and it's truly inspirational to read something from someone who is going through so much. I mean, the woman knows that she's going to die any day now, and still she has the strength to want to hear from others.

I've been meaning to email her and at least tell her that she's touched my heart through Joe, but now all on her own through her letter. And as for Joe...I stated in my twitter and I'll repeat it here....Many celebrities claim to support charity and do many auctions but to them, it's really petty cash and something that makes their persona look good on paper and on-screen. For Joe, in his letter to his fans he states that this woman has stayed in his house, he's carried her to and from and he's personally made her and her family a part of his everyday life along with his wife Katherine and his children.

That to me is profound. That says more than just I'm doing something good for someone.

That is meaningful and like you stated Blue, makes me love the man even more!

Truly a wonderful thing for Joe and his family to do for someone in great need and for Joe to feel confident that we, his Stargate fans won't let him down... one of his recent tweets was that Sarah Geary's people contacted him to let him know the outpour support from his fans in less than 24 hours from his twitter letter......that again just adds to his layer of loveliness!

No, I'm not crazy! Well, I am but not more than usual.

Just a friendly nudge that Beya's John and Teyla Secret Elf Exchange sign-ups will be posted soon. I want you guys to participate!!!

Last year we had such a great turnout that I was pleasantly surprised and I realize that the show may be over, but the John and Teyla fans are still very much alive and still loving this pairing.
