John Sheppard/Teyla Emmagan Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread

The ptb really did screw up and after reading Wedjatqi's fic The Storm there were so many more intelligent ways to explain Teyla's pregnancy and how she ended up with Kanaan..but I think the writers had lost interest in all of the characters except McKay and his happy ever after...




The ratings have dropped everywhere for SGU but at least in other countries they don't have to do the "spin" as we've seen from US ratings

Unfortunately I agree. They had plenty of time to explain about Teyla's choice, but only waisted it be using lame dialogue from Ronon, Repli-Weir, etc..... but no one had met him until S&R??? I think as an all male writing crew they forget that alot of women watch the show too and want to know why and have a better reason then them having both the gift.... I better stop my rant now I could go on and on about this.

Thanks for the link Cazz...I'm really looking forward to these books and if MGM have approved a series of books I doubt very much we will be getting a movie.. (though sadly I never really thought we ever would)

In fact the only way I see the possibility of a movie is if SGU tanks after season 2.. and the ptb want to keep the franchise going so they opt for the movie option again..

I wish the books were coming out sooner though..

Cazz I agree it's hard to rank scenes like that since they are all really good... I love all of those scenes... and I just love the fact that the fall I think wasn't even scripted

I remember they said Joe just slipped in one take, & that the two of them kept in character. TPTB must've liked it & put it in. Totally awesome moment!

I agree. Joe does and awesome job of showing how John feels for Teyla. I loved how they showed in Kindred1 that it even affected his appetite. He was that worried.

And About SGU..... I'm shocked.

2. I love the almost-in-tears look he has when Caldy says the Hive got away. He's like " nooooooooo! so close!"
3. S4 had some awesome J/T moments. SOW- how he had to come back & ask her (almost begged) to help fly the Hive, & she made him work for it! HA! Everytime I watch it I say "At-a-girl! Make him work for it!"
4. And she's calling him John more often- when they're in the market, & he's saying maybe they should go, she calls him John at least once. (kinda got distracted by the ENORMOUS ads over the bottom of the screen grrr! Can't wait till I have a proper version!)

SGU- I only watch it cos David Blue's awesome! Eli's the only one I really care about in the cast.

Thank GOD they chose to axe it before 'Light'- I dont think I would enjoy seeing Chloe & Scott get it on. I hated the scene in the premiere..........

Yep. We are! Gonna have mine printed as big as possible the next time I have stuff printed...... which prob won't be for a while as we're heading off to the beach next weekend.......


FINALLY made myself sit down & write VS6E8. Made a double-sided page- both sides full- of notes on the MBR. It's turning out very well.
Having to adjust to writing normally again- the other SG fic I'm doing is in script-form, & I haven't done a fic in ages in non-script form..........
There's some really great "lol!" moments- & I'm barely into it yet! Only written a few pages.........

He had to eat crow on that one, but it also help them be back in a better talking mode too. I didn't like them mad at each other. Did you notice she pouts at him when she wants to get her way, but when he leaves she show she's angry.... she know how to pull his heart strings.

That SOW scene where he asks her is soooo cute! Rachael & Joe played it wonderfully.
And I love the balcony scene at the end. It really shows how close they are to each other, & that they both really regretted the fact that they'd been arguing ever since she said she was pregnant.

I hated that they were fighting- everytime I watch that scene where she tells him, I always get the urge to go all Gibbs on him & hit him hard on the back of his head. (and I mean REALLY hard! )

John's reaction when he realizes it's Teyla in control of the Queen is priceless- I've always considered it as he kinda knew already, but that "It's me, John" line really confirmed it. (when they're back in their cell after the almost-fed upon moment, John's body language screams that he knows something's up........that he thinks Teyla may be helping them.)

And I love in S&R........well, EVERYTHING! I love his dream, his determination to not let getting her back slip away again. I love how when she hears gun fire she calls "John" not Rodney or Ronon- JOHN. (I know it was P-90 fire, but meh.) Oh, & I just love how she calls her son Torren John. Awww! And his shocked look when the words from his dream are said by her in the Infirmary- it's shock, & then he tries to cover it up! lol!

I'm on my way to getting 2,000! It seems like a fair way off now, but I'll make it. We'll have to celebrate when I get to 1,000!

Rather depressed atm. None of my fav shows are airing atm- they're all on a break. One returns on the 11th. Dunno when Bones will return. SGU's been axed from FTA- so there's no new SG to watch. And SGA S4's finishing this coming Thursday- but I've seen all of them...........*sigh* Depressing times.
