Ooh I forgot about PP... You should see it, it's a really good episode. Hmm... I don't they ever had a scene just the two of them, but there are definitely scenes with the two of them and others... Pegasus Project and 801.

That's true, at least with SG1 we had 10 seasons and two movies!

I haven't watched any of SGU yet, because I have a download limit in halls and already watch way too much online! I plan to watch it all (or start to, anyway) when I'm home for xmas. I've heard very mixed things about it - some of my friends love it, other are kind of 'bleugh' about it. I basically want to watch it for Robert Carlyle, and for the fact that I love and miss Stargate... I was an SG1 fan years before SGA started, and I miss both shows. So I'm gonna give it a try. The thing is though they've changed the entire feel of SGU - it's not so much about the dynamic of the main team, like SG1 and SGA.

I still hold onto the hope that it's not too late to fix - like I said I don't think it would happen suddenly, but if we get a movie or two I still think they could break them up/kill of Kanaan, and have her and John get closer. We'll just have to wait and see. If SGU tanks (and the ratings don't look promising, do they?) maybe they'll turn their attention to the movies.

Re fics - I am trying to write, but it's difficult. I'm not feeling inspired atm, because there are no new spoilers/speculation etc to feed me

Then, I'm gonna have to make up something that will inspire you!

I never really liked Larrin- I dunno if it was cos I'm such a strong supporter of J/T, or the fact that John was acting rather too smitten with her so early on in the ep. [even when she's beating him up he's being all charming. Makes me wanna throw up!]
And then in TLT, he's asking that other Traveller chick about Larrin- *wanna throw up again* [My older sis turned to me during that, & went "whose Larrin?" LOL! I was gonna explain it, but she suddenly remembered on her own.]

From Rising, it's been clear that there's a connection between John & Teyla that NO ONE else has. They understand each other- even without words........like in 'the Ark' end scene, I always felt as if she knew what John was trying to say, just the way she responded to him...........

John being the father could have brought so much more to both their characters and I always felt that the best moments between John and Teyla were the interpersonal ones.. we actually got to see what was behind their facades and it made their characters more interesting and endearing...to me anyway... I wouldnt have minded Teyla being taken off the team while she was pregnant... it's not like she could participate in their mission anyway.. and can you imagine the angst the Michael storyline would have produced..and John's reaction to him putting Teyla and his child in danger.. oh the missed opportunities.

... its a sad state of affairs when the actors couldnt believe that their characters relationship was ended with a guy out of nowhere.. but the writers went for the boring and plodding route.. Kanaan...and the rest is history..

Writers are annoying, aren't they?
What's worse is watching S5's 2nd half. I know it's McPuker filled later on..........but knowing there's "Prodigal" in HQ coming up is pushing me on.
[The next two we're up to- 'Outsiders' (????? the one after TLT), & 'Inquisition', are 2 I've yet to know in great detail. I've seen many of them from getting them off the net, but not all.

It's that very scene in which they had to say goodbye to EVER having their characters get together. And that's sad.

I also really like the story Glimpse. I favorited that one, I really like the whole idea, it was one of those fics that you can't pull yourself away from. You have to read the whole thing. Just awesome. Great idea.

Seriously, if they'd really wanted to, they could have made John the father. They're just scared of romantic relationships between two main characters on stargate... and it's a shame. The same thing happened on SG1 - whenever anything happened between Jack/Sam or Daniel/Vala, it was always reset at the end of the episode through time travel or alternate realities or whatever.

The writers are pansies.

Ever since I learned that not only Joe wanted John/Teyla but Rachel too I've been rewatching episodes and looking closer at how they react to each other. There's so many looks that you don't realize are there in the first watch, it's amazing.

Well I was counting the Kindred parts 1 and 2 as one episode and then Broken Ties where he says that line "Follow your heart without remorse." I have to say that is the only thing I liked about Kanaan was that line because you can interpret it so many ways. I mean you can almost say she choose to go back for John.

Oh ya, Search and Rescue, I forgot he was in that episode.

He definitely would have fought more. Could you imagine what could have happened in "Last Man" if he was the father? To find out from long dead Rodney that your kid is with Michael and that the woman you love is dead.

Thanks! Yeah... I kind of have a thing for writing baby!fic. Which is strange, because I don't tend to read a lot of it. Weird.

Baby Love was the 2nd SGA story I ever wrote, and the first multi-chapter one. When I read it now it seems really kind of juvenile in a way; I think it's just because I've written so much since then! But yeah, lol, I would have preferred an Ancient baby-maker to Kanaan

Absolutely - there are so many wonderful moments. I've gone right back to the beginning and it's kind of wonderful because at the very beginning the writers were obviously setting up John/Teyla - the way the meet in Rising, the wonderful moments in Hide & Seek, how worried she is in 38 Minutes, John's complete and utter faith in her in Suspicion... and coupling that kind of writing with their wonderful chemistry - it's a pleasure to watch. Throughout the series they kept the chemistry but unfortunately the shippy moments got fewer and fewer, which due to the build up and foundation laid in the first three seasons, ended up being completely out of character.

Sigh.
