John Sheppard/Teyla Emmagan Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
A selection of links to different convention reports, pics, videos, twitter messages and blog messages to either Chicago con or Dragon con. Most is of the latest one which is Dragon con
Even more links for the convention. http://agent-almeida.livejournal.com/76811.html?#cutid1
(Click on the pic in the LJ post and it will open up an album of different pics.. I have to say there is a beautiful artwork piece by one of the Whumpers (SGAFan)that impressed Joe and which he chose as a pic to have at the convention to sign autographs on...lucky girl )
And now to read that JM has mentioned that it won't even be addressed in the movie....I don't care for the movie then anymore. That's just wrong and very upsetting.
No worries. It happens and I know you did because when I first saw them earlier they were under spoiler tags. Weird!
So JM said that. I didn't know. Girl, you shouldn't get yourself upset about it. Scripts go through changes. And we are talking about JM here. And the man has a way about bending the truth or he doesn't know what he is talking about and I don't believe the latter. And the fact that he has a hand with the writing and production of the "possible" movie fills me with such reservations. That my expectations are at the bearest of minimum for the movie. So what I am saying, don't get yourself upset when it is still an unknown. It is not worth it.
i have quite a few ideas but a few of them have been done a few hunderd times. lol.
i have two AU's that i'm working on that are both set around the return. and John and Teyla being in two diff. galaxys. one has them married and it has john trying to fiugre out a way to get back to her. and the other one is kind of the same but not really in this one thier not married but teyla is pergrant.
and then i have a few post-S5 ones, becuase i love john and torren together (even though they were on screen together like twice lol)
what do ya'll think of those ideas
LOL, I know what you mean. I do like AU stories. Sound interesting. I would need a little more details. So send me a snippet of one. I love reading about John and Torren's interaction in fan fiction.
I go and watch the Con panel with the whole SG panel and then work on Smcki's sig and you guys went crazy. I'll have to catch up tomorrow. It's getting late.
I know some people have mixed feelings about that ep and the scene, but I take it as this... if it was just him reacting to her being a woman, then he would've done the same to Weir, but he didn't. The virus got him to bring down his wall. It was primal, but still, there were real feelings behind it. I remember many times in the old day when hubby and I were dating. He wasn't one for showing feelings either, but when he got drunk, it was a different person. He'd spout on about how much he loved me and other stuff he wouldn't normally say. He's not like that now.... Thank God . But that's kinda how I saw Conversion. IMO
ITA. And cute story about the husband too. And I do agree about the affects of drinking.
Didn't I read somewhere too what JM has mentioned in regards to this scene too? Didn't he state that it was pretty much what you mention, it was primal instinct yes, but it was still John in there mixed in with his new instincts. He reacted to everyone the way he was with the others. Remember, when he left Teyla in the gym, it would be many hours later before he started to really change and even then he was still back and forth and much the real John.
You know, I always thought that - that is was always really John esp. because it was so early in his transformation. That is was him, what he wanted to do, just with less inhibitions. Exactly like you said Sci when someone has a couple of drinks, they do things that they might like to do normally, but the drink makes it easier for them. So with John, they were his instints. He just always kept them under wraps so to speak. Camy you are right that he was barely changing at that point. He was still very much in control but I think he was aware that things were changing. Actually it seems to be the only thing he really apologized for. He didn't apologize for attacking the security team or Elizabeth - so I think that is what he remembered most.
I don't think he was aware of the changes within until when he met with Dr. Beckett and Dr. Weir in the infirmary. And that first meeting, he was to some extent still in denial with that meeting. It was after he went back to the infirmary the second time after noticing the coloration and changes to the skin on his arm, then he voiced he could feel the changes within him.
Nina, thanks for the links, so now I have something to at least listen to when I'm at work.

I've not heard that from JM either Hope, and i'm pretty certain i've heard all of his news on the subject
I remember him saying that Shep would have to bump Kanaan off, but he never said that wouldn't happen
I thought it was someone that posted that they finally asked JM about the Conversion scene. Gosh, I'll see if I can find it but I doubt I will.
In any case, Rachel has also stated, correct me if I"m wrong here, that although Teyla was taken by surprise, she had the capability to stop it and she didn't, she only put up her hand, and he immediately pulled away at her signal or something to that nature.
It wasn't the same kiss as the one with Weir because first, Teyla was not taken over by anything. If anything she's the most interesting one in the scene because she was all Teyla and she could have done more than what she did in putting her hand up. Why didn't she pushed him, why didn't she hit him...try more than what she did, if she wasn't the least bit interested.
And also, the last scene...Joe Flanigan has stated that he never wanted to make John apologize for kissing Teyla. He was apologizing for his "out of character" behavior in which Teyla told him her famous line, "don't give it another thought" Now, I get it. She didn't want John to realize that she was actually into it! And it had nothing to do with her lower inhibitions.

I know I'm not loosing my mind, I"ll have to look it up. Or maybe I am loosing my mind.
That's my whole point, Hope. That I don't trust what JM and PM are going to do with the movie and if they are doing it, it won't be any good on the JT side. I know that JM is in favor or at one point was in favor of John and Teyla. JM was the one that stated that they thought of John as the father of Teyla's son and also that Teyla and Nancy are really the only two characters that he's ever seen would be the ones to settle or be the best character to settle with John. Yet, they continue to steer away from it. And I don't get why the feel the need that Teyla has to stay with Kanaan when by his own admission too, Teyla still has feelings for John. That makes no sense. GET RID OF THE GUY!!! Or just show him a bit of John and Teyla together, in the mess hall or on the fighting field or sparring, or just hanging out, and Kanaan will figure it out all by himself. It's no rocket science!
