John Sheppard/Teyla Emmagan Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread

Hey gang,
Know I've not been here for a while, but can I add 2 cents to the *marriage* discussion.

I agree that it would take the right person for John to reconsider marriage and we all know that *right* person would be Teyla. However it would not be under you typical circumstances that would make John realize the *need* to have a permanent relationship with Teyla.

Marriage for many, represents contractual agreement of mutal ownership if you will (no throwing lemons ladies). Anyway, my point is that at some point I think Sheppard would want to make sure everyone knows that Teyla is his without any doubts. I also feel that if a child was to come into play, his sense of family would influence his choice of making it *legal* as is a sample in Wedj's new fic - Lost.

But, as always these are JMHOs.

Just a quick little post- be back later!

I thought up a name for an episode (though it still needs an ep to go with).
My idea "To Walk The Land Alone" [Dezrai might recognise it- *cough*Brisinger*cough*]

Will be back- I've got a graphic I've been working on the past few days (damn Photoshop kept crashing which meant it took longer to do - but it's ALMOST done! Just needs to have the words put on!) & so I'll be finishing that off now & will post.

That's how I see it as well jtja...... and "Lost" is exactly how I see John and Teyla ending up... once John realises how much Teyla means to him and they both admit their feelings I see him wanting to let everyone know she is with him and he would want to make a legal committment to her. I think it wouldn't be a big event, like Cazz said probably a small ceremony where they exchange rings. And of course I see little JT's in their future as well....

On the marriage issue, I have to agree with Laura. I don't see them getting married either. At least not any time soon. Could be my own standpoint reflected here, but I don't see John marrying again soon, not even to Teyla. In my mind, that would take years of them being together. I think they both would feel comfortable being in a steady relationship for years without a marriage commitment. But that's just my opinion of course

I could see John and Teyla getting married but not for a very long time, I think, like others have said, that just saying I love you is it for John. Maybe after a while they would get married in a very small ceremony and not make a big deal about, just something that puts a ring on the finger
