Hiya! I was part of the original Save SGA campaign (before the leaders decided to end both sites) and though I posted news on that rally, I wasn't involved with it. I was trying to organize the ones in the states (which was impossible because I couldn't get the permits.) Also, I have a very large J/T fanfic on a Sam/Jack site (it was Sam/Jack too) so maybe you read it?

Alright JTers...I have two new challenges for you that I'm really excited about in Beya.
This won't conflict with the challenge that you have going with Cazzie and her and I actually discussed this already.

Season 5 Re-Write....basically, similar to what I think you have going on with the entire series run that you have going on.

And we also have a Season 6 that we want to write...so.....go and check it out and 11:00p.m. Eastern time tomorrow we begin the posting entries....

Challenge: Season 5 and Season 6 Fanfic Challenge

Alright my friends, this broken heart has to move on and I have two ideas that I think you guys can help me with and I hope it does to others.

This idea I know has been floating around with some in fandom, so I can't take the credit for these. A Season 5 rewrite is actually included in the Gateworld Sheppard and Teyla thread which currently has a LJ strickly for that challenge which includes all 5 Season. Basically, there are two different challenges and I hope I make sense explaining this.



Choose an episode and rewrite the episode using the same content, but changing it and/or modifying it to your liking; however keeping the same idea/content of the real episode. For example, Identity...you could have Teyla be the one that has the identity change instead of Keller. You keep the idea of the episode, but you change it around to your liking.

Or, you could write a missing scene for the episode while keeping the plot the same
All fics have to have John and Teyla as the focus
Could be pre-ship, friendship, in relationship or AU
Fic has to be at least 1,000 words long
Has to be original piece for this challenge and not something you already wrote'
All fics will be posted in a new entry following the rules and guidelines for posting in this community.
Every Sunday night at 11:00p.m. Eastern Time a Season 5 Episode will be posted as the challenge in a new enry. A masterlist will be posted with a link to all the fics at the end of the two week posting. Participating writers will have two weeks to enter their fics. You may enter your fic within that two week time frame.
NO Threesome allowed
All chapters must be completed and posted as one for each episode in one entry.

If you want to post the link in your LJ simply add the link as an entry here, but please make sure that it's the first time that you post that fic.

The idea behind this is to do a rewrite of Season 5 and simply let your imagination flow. If you'd like you can even do the entire Season little by little and if you don't want to write for all episodes, but still have a continuity, that's more than acceptable. Simply stated in your comment sections for others to follow along.


Season 6 Details
Now, our second challenge will be on-going with this one, but it will last much longer.

We will also be having a Season 6 of Stargate Atlantis.

Now, we all know where Season 5 ended....SADLY! Now, it's our chance to have a Season 6 to fix the horror that these writers did to us, especially to Teyla, John, Ronon and Teyla and John as a possible pairing.

We will start with a discussion in this community. Basically, we are going to be the writers. We will define what topics we are going to include in the fics without hindering the creative minds of those that will take on the challenge.

Starting Monday, I'll open an entry where we can start discussing were the Season ended, what do we want to include as a definite ending for the series and where do we go from there. For example, the big questions:
Are Torren and Kanan in Atlantis with Teyla on Earth? Or is it just Torren? Are Kanan and Teyla in an intimate relationship? Etc...is John seeing anyone, Larrin? etc...

We can discuss those and decide what is it that we want to be firm and then move from there on what interelationship topics we want to see between John and Teyla and then brainstorm some topic ideas of where we'd like the Season 6 to go. Then we will post the challenges for each episode, allow members to post some challenges for possible episode topics and write a Season 6.

Now, one of the questions I have is, should we have writers choose 1 episode and have a total of 20 fics that will make up an entire season, or do we want a variety of different fics and have more than one possible scenario for each given episode challenge.

So, there might be three fics for Season 6 Episode 1...etc....

We decide and we make this happen and hopefully, we will have an entire Season 6 of Stargate Atlantis with some character development for John and Teyla and Ronon which was so lacking in Season 5 but with the twist of eventually getting what most of us wanted to see between John and Teyla!!!

All fics must be at least 1,000 words
John and Teyla MUST be the focus of the fic
All fic entries must be completed
NO death of John and or Teyla or three some accepted


I sure hope we have loads of participation. Now mainly this is a fanfic challenge, but I encourage fanart, including manips, fic cover fanarts, if anyone wants any, videos of course for Season 5 especially, picfics,
and any other form of creative art that you can share with us that has to do with Season 5 and Season 6.

To be honest with ya, most of the fics I read are ones that people recommend in here or on the Shep whump thread and they usually go straight to the authors LJ. For JT fics, scifan posts a daily link in here, this was her last one: http://forum.gateworld.net/showpost....stcount=100749. Or there is SGA Beya, that Camy just posted the link to, that has artwork in it too

Thanks! I saw the challenge earlier - that sounds awesome! Can't wait to read them. I have been to Wraithbait before, but it seemed like they didn't have all that many J/T stories. I have never been to Beya so I'm thrilled to find that one! Thanks for posting the link. I just get to go have fun and check out all these links now!

And though I am seriously an amateur compared to some of what I have read on fanfic.net, I would have loved to try to write for the challenge myself. But I just finished a 62 chapter story (finished posting it yesterday) and am writing a new one that will probably be around 30 chapters (first two chapters are up.) It takes place where the episode Vegas leaves off and is about how John ends up going to Atlantis and meeting Teyla if you all are interested. I would love to know what you J/T shippers think TBH.

That is my fic, (I actually just posted the last chapter yesterday) and the link is right, but you have Silly Sally as the author.
