Ok, I don't get to watch these episodes day in and day out, but the recent conversation has me curious. Rodney hasn't actually referred to John as "Kirk" since the whole Chaya thing hasn't he? I'm kinda under the impression it might be one of those Stargate cliches like Jack always calling Daniel "Spacemonkey"

No I don't think so, although I have a less than perfect recollection. Mostly it seems to be a fan description for him during s2, before he revirginised himself in s3

The last Kirk reference happened in S3 McKay and mrs. Miller
After being on the alternate Daedalus, which jumped from one reality to another, and getting rescued in a puddle jumper by Major Lorne and Zelenka, the main thing Teyla wanted to do was go see her son.
She feels bad that Rodney got shot in his shoulder by an enemy they never encountered before, but her feet can’t move fast enough out of the rear hatch door.
A medical team is waiting to retrieve Rodney and bring him to the infirmary. John can see Teyla’s anxiousness and it concerns him. He tells Keller that he will be at the infirmary shortly to check on Rodney and she nods in acknowledgement.
John quickly jogs to catch up to Teyla, “Hey, you ok?”
Teyla stops to address John. She frowns slightly and sighs, “I am not sure. After seeing the other us dead, I…”
“You got worried that the same might happen to us and Torren would be without a mother,” John interrupts.
She lowers her eyes and nods.
“That’s understandable,” he says gently.
They begin to walk down the hall. There’s a brief uncomfortable silence.
“Well, you’re ok and he’ll be happy to see you,” John smiles. “And let’s hope that the other Rodney’s out there aren’t as clumsy as ours and dropping babies.”
Teyla smirks slightly, “I see you heard about that.”
“Yeahhhh. Rodney thinks you’re hiding Torren from him,” John continues in jest.
“I am not!” Teyla protests in a higher pitch to her voice.
John raises and eyebrow, as if to question her response.
She smiles, “Do you not blame me?”
“No, I don’t, but you know Rodney,” John begins.
Teyla gives him a puzzled look.
“He’ll just keep bugging you just because you won’t let him,” John states with a sympathetic tone.
Teyla stops. Her face expresses her discomfort, “Do you suggest that I let him hold my son and risk dropping him, again?”
“All I’m saying is that what perfect time to do it then while he’s in the infirmary,” John says with his boyish grin. “I’ll be right there and so will you.”
Teyla still isn’t happy with the idea, but she agrees.
John smiles, “Good. I’ll meet you there and don’t tell him that I said anything.”
Teyla agrees and goes to get Torren.
When she finally arrives, John is already sitting by Rodney, talking and playing with his handheld video game.
John looks up to see Teyla and stretches his neck to see Torren within her arms, “Hey, looks here.” He closes the cover to his game.
Teyla quickly asks Rodney how his shoulder is.
He nervously answers, “Uhhh, it’s pretty bad, but you know better. Thanks.”
“Is it well enough to hold him?” as Teyla motions to suggest him holding Torren.
John looks at Rodney as if to say, “Well?”
Rodney is surprised, “Really?”
Teyla shrugs a shoulder and smiles.
As she is handing Rodney the baby, John says with an uncomfortable look on his face, “Don’t drop him.”
Rodney rhetorically says thank you to John.
She gently places Torren in his arms. Rodney makes slight discomfort noises, but soon smiles at the sleeping bundle in his arms.
“Hey there little guy.” Rodney smiles widely. “I think he likes me.”
“It suits you,” Teyla responds with a slight tilt to her head.
“You think so,” Rodney questions as he looks back at Torren.
“I think you’ll make an excellent father some day,” Teyla answers with a little playful rising of her eyebrows.
Rodney groans softly and briefly, in protest to her comment and becomes uncomfortable.
John makes a funny face as if to say, “Oh, brother”. He gets and begins to walk out of the infirmary, “I’ve seen a lot of scary things in my time, but … uh… that thought scares me the most.”
Rodney looks even more worried, “Did you wanna…umm?” He hints that he’s ready to give back the baby.
“I think so,” Teyla answers as she takes her son back.
Rodney shows his relief.
Teyla leaves shortly afterwards and John catches up to her again.
John smiles widely, “That was brilliant! You got me scared at the thought of
Rodney being a dad, I’m sure he’s terrified now. I wouldn’t expect Rodney to ask you to hold him anytime soon.”
Teyla chuckles slightly, “Good.”
John laughs and heads down another corridor as Teyla happily heads back to her quarters.
I should be careful what I wish for.... I have 12 pages to catch up on.

Spoiler:
The weekend wasn't bad.
I'm tired, from lack of sleep and sore from not sleeping in my bed, but otherwise, we had a good time. I think Alex was bummed we didn't live at the campground.
They had a thing where the kids could "pan" and "mine" for gems and other rocks. They had alot of fun with that. There were other things we did, but all and all it was good.
Sciiii How are you ? Great that your week end wasn't bad
I know.,,,,I know... I feel the same way... they can't hide behind the "no relationships between main cast" .. David and Jewel are regular cast...so no more hiding... get JT going.. no excuses left...
I'd say that's quite likely. Given that the first (I'm assuming there will be more than one) will most likely
Spoiler:
wrap up the wraith/michael storyling in much the same way as AoT neutralised the Ori, it's a safe bet that Teyla (who is vitally important to both the wraith & michael plotlines) should have a more prominent part.
As for any shippy angle, well I guess that depends on how many movies they end up by doing. They seem to like to string things out as long as possible, but if the wraith do play a big part in WraithKill2.0, it would seem plausible that Teyla is in danger for part of the movie, so maybe one of them becomes concerned for the other, more than a friend would be?
Hmm. What was my point? Oh yes, if they do a movie, they tend to do things 'bigger' and 'more extreme', so if I were a Sheyla shipper I would be cautiously hopeful about their prospects in a movie.
I only popped in for a look coz to return a green (which apparently I can't do), I wasn't trying to stickybeak
Awesome thoughts I really like them come as often as you want besides you bring new conversations in this difficult times lol
Oh thanks sci....Well I downloaded the trial version of PSP X2 and i was finally able to get it to work...Still can't get PSP X1 to work though...Everytime i try to install it again my computer crashes
funnily enough I don't find him shallow...if you look each and every time there has been a female tossed his way...the woman makes the first move...never him... I'll be happy if they just keep the attitude from Travlers far away... I don't want to se her as like Larrin2
I got jumped on for saying this in my main thread, but the man has needs!! If you look at the so called kirkettes:
s1 ancient chick (chaya?)
s2 sanctuary chick, inferno scientist, tower girl
s3 i actually can't remember
s4 Larrin
chaya was as much a spiritual thing as anything else; the one in sanctuary he slept with after six months, during which time he thought everyone else had given up on him; the inferno scientist he merely shared a few looks with; tower girl is unclear - they imply that he slept with her, but don't actually say it (personally, i think if he didn't, it supports McShep more than any other ship); and well Larrin they just kissed.
Once (possibly twice) in four and a half years is not a lot of action for a man of that age, especially considering that it was only during the first year that they were isolated from earth. I don't understand how it can be called kirking, or that he can be considered shallow for a few looks here and there (although IMO he could be a little more discreet with his eyes)
ITA with you the problem that we call him Kirk is that he was the only one hot man attracting all the girl I think finally it's the bad attitude from women who fall to his feet that oddly make him seem bad because like he said in The Tower and I find it so bad 'he always fall for it ' or something like that.
I don't think like I said he isKirk hey in the first season of SG1 Sam hasd a love interest in every planet and Daniel and Jack had more than one but it was more balanced.
In SGA there was only Shep who had the right to have some interest I say it often because it really unnerves me but it's well know that it's so bad that she never has a love interest except Kanaan where besides no luck she falls pregnant. If we consider this Shep has to have several whildren in the galaxy lol. But this is the same for Ronon he was so in love with Melena that he has interest for nobody else and worst nobody has interest in him. It's when you compare all that finally Shep hasn't evolved a lot in all of this he seems the one unable to have stable relationship and nce all his family is cased will he be alone ?
Ok I go far sorry only to say that I don't consider Shep a Kirk
Ok, maybe shallow was too harsh. And you are so right about him not making the first move. Unfortunately, that's why it's taking him so long. Once he gets it, it'll hit him like a ton of bricks.
I dont' want a Larrin want a be either.
That would make sense. Good thought DM.
Yep,
Spoiler:
in First Contact and the following ep, since it's a two parter.
Now I think about it, I don't think he had any one in S3. And I don't think anything happened in the tower because of his last comment with Weir. I use to be confused to until someone pointed it out to me.
I think the Kirking stuck after McKay dubbed him that during the ep with Chaya. He tends to flirt more then anything. Especially if they are "hot".
Hee hee.
I think it was a little bit of both. Annoying McKay was the bonus.
