John Sheppard/Teyla Emmagan Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
I hear ya... and can they for once not make her go after John and I don't want him to go after her either...for once just leave that darn cliche alone will ya tptb... I'm getting sick of every space babe thrown his way... if you can't move JT forward then for the heck leave off the women of the week for him... if I see the same attitude as in Travelers then this new Traveler can also go sod off...
DasNdanger writes: “ Wait…you’re not moving over to SGU… Are any of the writers?”
Answer: It’s still to early to say who will be involved and in what capacity.
Missy writes: “Just a quick question, Are you planning on wrapping up the wraith story line between now and the movie, or are you gonna save them for other movies?”
Answer: Some storylines will be wrapped up by series end, but the wraith will continue to be a presence beyond our 100th episode.
Thornyrose writes: “I’m really looking forward to your Stargate version of a horrror story, not to mention seeing Mr. McGillion back on the show.”
Answer: It’s a fun little episode. More edge-of-your-seat popcorn fare than last night’s character-driven drama, but that’s what I love about the show, its ability to tell wildly different stories. I’ll be posting more behind-the-scenes Whispers pics in the lead-up to its airing.
DasNdanger also writes: “Is it possible that this movie is merely a ‘bone’ tossed to both fans and crew/cast alike to appease them, with no intention of making a second or third movie down the line?”
Answer: Definitely not. Much will depend on how it performs but we’re confident that this will be the first of many Atlantis movies.
DasNdanger also writes: “If the first movie is well-supported and successful, then how often do you see SGA movies being produced? Once a year? Twice? More - less?”
Answer: This is a scheduling issue. I think that we could produce as many as three Stargate (either SG-1 or Atlantis) movies a year. Four is a longshot but very possible.
DasNdanger writes: “If all goes well, what do you foresee as the earliest possible release ‘date’ (i.e. beginning/middle/end of a particular year) for the first movie? Latest date?”
Answer: No idea. This would be a question for MGM and Sci Fi.
Laura writes: “…was the Arthur line ad-libbed?”
Answer: Nope. It was scripted.
Tardishart writes: “Stand alone? What? To me that just says filler, no connections emotionally to what has gone before.”
Answer: I disagree. Last night’s episode, for instance, was what I would consider a standalone. The story was self-contained and yet it contained instances that paid off past episodes and developed elements for future stories.
Yes Lol i Just hope these Movies they are on about Feature More Teyla than they have been in the Show
I'd say that's quite likely. Given that the first (I'm assuming there will be more than one) will most likely
Spoiler:
wrap up the wraith/michael storyling in much the same way as AoT neutralised the Ori, it's a safe bet that Teyla (who is vitally important to both the wraith & michael plotlines) should have a more prominent part.
As for any shippy angle, well I guess that depends on how many movies they end up by doing. They seem to like to string things out as long as possible, but if the wraith do play a big part in WraithKill2.0, it would seem plausible that Teyla is in danger for part of the movie, so maybe one of them becomes concerned for the other, more than a friend would be?
Hmm. What was my point? Oh yes, if they do a movie, they tend to do things 'bigger' and 'more extreme', so if I were a Sheyla shipper I would be cautiously hopeful about their prospects in a movie.
I only popped in for a look coz to return a green (which apparently I can't do), I wasn't trying to stickybeak

Spoiler:
I won't be surprised if they typically do that, but there is also a seriousness of the ep. They need to beat Todd, that his on Daedy and has Teyla and Ronon, and they have to save Rodney and Daniel. I hate to think that he's gonna be that shallow.

Oh that would be cool!!!
Great thought Gateraid!!!
Humor is the great thing, the saving thing after all. The minute it crops up, all our hardnesses yield, all our irritations, and resentments flit away, and a sunny spirit takes their place. --Mark Twain
I think I found one for now. I'll work on it later.
I'll surprise you.
Thanks Donna for both links.

Welcome to the JT thread!!!

funnily enough I don't find him shallow...if you look each and every time there has been a female tossed his way...the woman makes the first move...never him... I'll be happy if they just keep the attitude from Travlers far away... I don't want to se her as like Larrin2
I'm thinking the movies may have a lot more time pass, story time, than the eps so it's possible Teyla's son could grow up really fast and/or shippy relationships could happen in the "spaces" between the movies. If we're lucky they'll hint at something.
I didn't know there was going to be another Travelers. I liked the last one, but I know I'm in the minority.

I got jumped on for saying this in my main thread, but the man has needs!! If you look at the so called kirkettes:
s1 ancient chick (chaya?)
s2 sanctuary chick, inferno scientist, tower girl
s3 i actually can't remember
s4 Larrin
chaya was as much a spiritual thing as anything else; the one in sanctuary he slept with after six months, during which time he thought everyone else had given up on him; the inferno scientist he merely shared a few looks with; tower girl is unclear - they imply that he slept with her, but don't actually say it (personally, i think if he didn't, it supports McShep more than any other ship); and well Larrin they just kissed.
Once (possibly twice) in four and a half years is not a lot of action for a man of that age, especially considering that it was only during the first year that they were isolated from earth. I don't understand how it can be called kirking, or that he can be considered shallow for a few looks here and there (although IMO he could be a little more discreet with his eyes)

I think he was only trying to annoy McKay with the inferno chick And i think it worked see,he wasn't happy at all!!

Me too. And yet it's still called kirking. I'm not saying he needs (or that i want him too, that would be a poor example to set) sleep his way around the galaxy, but a few harmless looks never hurt anyone, as long as it's not leering.
The fact that TPTB have overlooked (at least in canon) a serious relationship for any of the main characters makes them look, umm, incomplete? Two dimensional? Emotionless? And then they suddenly jump into a love triangle? Odd.
But getting back to the threads topic, I suspect that there will be some hints of sheyla in Vegas & ??#20, as it has always been tptb's intention to hook them up, just that they kinda forgot about it. If not then, then in the movie
